Check that play again. Perez made the call for where the throw should go and he signaled for the ball to go to him. Davis didn't make a mistake; he's supposed to follow the fly then throw where the catcher, who has the best view of the field, directs.

But, said in light of his 2 HR 4 RBI I think we can overlook that gaff by Perez. He just better not do it again.

Well, since this seems to have become the de-facto World Series thread, here I am. Been a Cubs fan since grad school 26 years ago. I've suffered through the dreadful 90s, Bartman, the 08-09 choke artists followed by another half decade of shit. It may not be multi-generational old-school Chicago fandom, but it's legit.
