Didnt know which board to post this on so here goes.
Ok, I'll be 37 this month, April that is, and I'm thinking of starting almost completely over. How sick am I? I'm thinking of giving up a $60K a year job to come back to Columbus from Pheonix and go back to school for my Masters degree and beyond.
I do feel sick sometimes. When I see the young student-athletes we have go out on their respective athletic fields and give everything they have for self, family and The Ohio State University, and I'm the only one in my house, bar or internet feed yelling "O-H when they succeed. Am I sick? I dont personally think so. As an avid student of Psychology having worked with people over the last 10 years, I can say that I am definitely of sound mind. My heart, however, is definitely and has always been, property of The Ohio State University.
Not often on this website do people actually post things of a very serious nature without it having been someone associated with tOSU athletics, but I'm seriously in need of some advice from the people on here I've grown to appreciate if not always agree with.
Should I do it?
I have no children. No wife. I have no obligations other to myself but is changing careers and following my passions the "right thing to do"? Clarity, God love him, has gone through some life altering events since starting this beloved site and might have a particular point of view on this subject but I'd like to maybe hear from the rest of you Buckeyes on what you might do given my situation.
My family is all in Ohio. Arizona has been good to me for the most part, work and socially. I just feel a gnawing at my soul so to speak that I havent done what I was meant to do. I can work in my field and progress or I can continue on with my studies and possibly reach heights I would never reach in my field, or I could end up dissatisfied. In today's economy this is a very tough decision for me. I've asked others but I'm asking now.........
What would a Buckeye do?
