WR Trevon Grimes (transfer to Florida Gators)

247 (Free) - Country’s No. 1 WR Could Be An Early Ohio State Commitment

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Aquinas 2017 wide receiver Trevon Grimes has an impressive list of early scholarship offers that includes Ohio State, LSU, Auburn, Clemson, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana and Syracuse.

Grimes told 247Sports recruiting analyst Ryan Bartow he hasn’t decided which schools to visit this spring, but is starting to think about lining up some junior day and spring game trips.

“As of right now now no,” Grimes told Bartow when asked if he has anything scheduled. “But I’m trying to look into that. I want to get to some. Right now I’m not sure. I’m just looking around. Right now I’m just focused on track. Once track season is over I’ll definitely look into that and decide which spring games and which junior days I want to go to.”

Grimes is from Indiana and has Notre Dame on his list.

“I want to look into Notre Dame,” Grimes said. “Tony Alford, well now he is at Ohio State. He’s the one that recruited me to Notre Dame. It’s a home town school. I want to look into Notre Dame.”

But Grimes told Bartow another Midwest school is recruiting him the hardest.

“Ohio State,” Grimes said. “[I like] everything. Like I said, I’m from Indiana so I’ve always loved schools around there. Ohio State is a top one. The coaching staff - Urban Meyer is a great coach. And the receivers – they love to use them.”

So could Grimes be a possible early commitment for the Buckeyes?

“Maybe, maybe,” he said. “Time will tell. We’ll see. And if the time comes then yes I will.”

The 6-foot-3 and 180-pound Grimes is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country’s No. 10 overall prospect, the No. 1 wide receiver, and the No. 2 prospect in Florida.

Judson and Grimes at WR, would be an amazing WR class in itself, throw in Clark at QB, Sibley at RB and Meyers at OT, and dear lord that is the making of a class I have no words for because it's that good(on paper at least).

We're also the leaders for 5-star WR Jeff Thomas from IL, are near the top for 5-star WR Donovan Peoples-Jones from Cass Tech, have a "when-not-if" situation when we decide to offer in-state 4-star WR Danny Davis, looking good for 4-star WR Keyshawn Johnson Jr. from CA and lead for elite 4-star WR Emmanuel Greene from Florida.

2017 should have ridiculous offensive talent.

2017 WR TREVON GRIMES IS A FIVE-STAR
Grimes is from Indiana, so he likes a Big Ten school who just won the national title and the lead is pretty big early.

"I am from up north, so I have always liked Ohio State," said Grimes. "Ohio State is No. 1 for me and they may be hard to beat. I love the coaches, the atmosphere, how they play, and I grew up watching them."

Schools like Auburn, Clemson, Florida, LSU, and Notre Dame have all offered Grimes, but he will be tough to pull away from the Buckeyes. A decision could come early for the new five-star.
