Its hard not to remember that TP is only a Frosh.... he makes many upper class moves and decisions. He has done very well for the position he has been put in. As hard as it is to swallow another loss and a season prolly without going to a BCS bowl the future loox great with TP. Just sad to see that defense play so well, against one of the best offenses in the country and shut it down so well!!! Also to see Malcom and James and others leave without least a Big 10 champ.

That was a very sad scene to see TP hunched down and not wanting to be seen with the rest of the Team while singing "Carmen". For him to be taking
this all on his shoulders says alot about the character of this young man. Remember all the games that Craig Krenzel won with his last minute efforts in 2002. Those efforts could have easily gone the other direction. Things like that happen. Thats the way fate works. I hope he can get over this real quick and I'm sure Coach "T" will be there to bring him out of this. That game was a real tough game to play. Both teams left there best efforts out on the field saturday night. Somebody had to win and it just wasn't in the books for our Buckeyes I guess.

THat picture of Pyor is really depressing. I hope he doesn't stay down too long. Overall his performance was pretty good for a frosh and we all knew he was going to make a mistake now and then.

He's improving and thats the most important thing.

But it looks like Pryor fared better than Troy in the passing department. So for those complaining about Pryor's passing, take a moment to think about that.

They all look like line drives in the box score. Numbers can hide so much. Since you started to compare the two QBs, I would like to watch the two games back to back and then compare the passing abilities of the two. I would like to see how often receivers had to alter their routs to get to the ball. I would like to see which QB hit their receivers in stride. I don't remember that 05 game in that much detail. I do remember Smith's fumble. I think he recovered pretty well after that. So will Pryor after this game. I just hope he believes that.

If that fumble doesn't happen, we're praising Pryor right now. It was just one of those plays. He had the ball on the correct side of the body, and he was trying to fight off a defender to get the first down. I don't know if he gets that first down if he doesn't bounce to the outside. The defender made a nice play there.

Better line-play by PSU won this game, TP didn't lose it. Hopefully he doesn't get down on himself, because he made some clutch plays Saturday night that have been forgotten (somehow) already. I've seen his turnovers on TV, but I haven't see his smart decisions and good throws, not to mention his many evasions of the PSU d-line.

He's going to be awesome. It's just going to take a little more than 5 games. :)

Troy threw a much better ball in his first season, but that was also his third at Ohio State. Terrelle's 3rd season will either be his last or second to last.

However, Troy was not nearly as patient as a passer nor as hungry to study & learn. Both of those came later, as Troy would admit down the road. Terrelle also brings a lot more to the running game than Troy did, especially on designed runs.

It seems to me that if Pryor maintained possession, #9 still would have wrapped him up and brought him down, albeit after Pryor got the first down.

On a sidenote, if Hartline had tried at all to block, Terrelle might have had a lane for 6.

It looks like Hartline is way too far outside. Given, he did nothing to block on that play or help out, but #9 still had the angle on Pryor and I don't think Hartline could have done anything about that.

Not trying to stir things up here--just my responses to your observations based on my review of the tape (which is still hard to watch).

The play was to go over the middle, not to the outside. Hartline was not thinking that TP was going to to the right. Did Hartline's man make the tackle? All TP had to do after he broke outside was to cut inside for a couple of yards. TP has too much baggage from High School and he still thinks he can beat anyone to the outside.

I would like to see TP learn now in his freshman year and have him better for the next three years then have him learn next year. I can handle an off year now to see three great years later.

I wasn't clear, I meant if the original tackle is broken, I think TP can bounce it outside around Hartline's man. I don't think Scirotto makes up the distance coming from the pile-up.

No, but assuming a play will be dead and not involve you is a naive approach with Pryor under center.

It means in High School he could most likely beat his competition to the edge and go for big yardage. He has done that for years. He was a man against boys in High School. He can't do that now against the big boys. It is just something he needs to learn.

TP has beaten quite a few D1 players to and around the outside so far.

The thing I really like is that he said afterward that it was a called sneak, but PSU knew it and he saw them cheating toward the middle. He made a calculated adjustment that could've sealed the game for us. It didn't work out badly because it was a stupid thing to do. It worked out badly because the ball got stripped. He can explain exactly why he did what he did. He's not a loose cannon, he's an incredibly aware 19 year old who was willing to try to make a play that almost worked. If it had all of us would be kissing his ass.

I'm glad to have a QB, after the punching the clock attitude we've had of late, that will take a strategic risk and has the confidence in himself to think he can pull it off. TP already has the stuff that separates good from great.

and not just against the Penguins, but leaving All-Americans and future NFL starters in the dust. Not always, but enough that it's something he must refine, not eliminate.
