That could be what TP is experiencing or there could be a little blowback by the guys on the team to play the veterans, who knows. Palmer is hurt and isnt that good anyway. Leinart has always been crap. What is Terrelle Pryor in a game? Thats what we'd all like to find out.

pnuts34;2281433; said:Palmer isn't that good, really??? It may have something to do with Oakland having no o line and mediocre wrs. TP is still just an athletic trying to play qb. That may work in a college game against inferior competetion, but not in the league. TP still hasn't shown the skills to be a successful nfl qb which is why he's not getting any pt
No, he was not. He was a good college QB. The Radiers picked him up as a project that he could be a great QB. He is not there yet.NFBuck;2281356; said:He was an awesome college QB,
zincfinger;2281392; said:That's what I'm saying. Definitions may vary, but by mine, being able to throw the ball a country mile, in and of itself, does not qualify you as possessing one of the best arms in NFL history. There are plenty of other guys who could launch it, but also had far quicker releases and could deliver the ball more accurately.
Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen says Terrelle Pryor not ready to be backup quarterback

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- While the Raiders were clearing out of the locker room Sunday, Carson Palmer was at a hospital, getting checked out before boarding the team charter headed back to Oakland after a 17-6 loss to the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
After taking a helmet to the back by defensive end Greg Hardy in the first quarter, Palmer's status is unclear for the season finale against the San Diego Chargers. X-rays on his ribs were negative.
If Palmer can't play, coach Dennis Allen made it clear the quarterback will be Matt Leinart, who struggled against the Panthers, and not Terrelle Pryor, who took three snaps in a specialty role.
"Matt's our backup quarterback," Allen said. "Terrelle's done a nice job. He's working extremely hard. We don't feel like he's ready to be the backup quarterback yet."
For now, Allen said, Pryor is best utilized with specific plays that suit his skills, rather than as an every-down quarterback in charge of managing a game.

I dont know how anyone can defend the Oakland coaching staff. Their coaching turnover rate is ridiculous. Its about as consistent as their seasons.
Besides, unless any poster is watching him practice, no one can comment on how he is or is not developing at practice and whether or not he is an NFL QB. The only thing we can go off of is his Sunday morning play time.
cincibuck;2281461; said:TP stated he would play receiver if that's what the Raiders wanted. In my opinion it's a waste of potential to leave him sitting on the bench when he has demonstrated his ability to catch and run, but not his ability to throw at the NFL level.

Asked about playing, Pryor was tight-lipped: "It's just playing football, you know? It's what I've been playing my whole life. It's something I like to do."
On what his plays showed: "I just do what I'm asked to do and that's it. Whatever I show, I show."
On if he thought he should have been used more: "I'm just a player. I don't have any expertise in coaching."
On if he expects to play more next week: "Not sure. I know I played three decent plays, but I didn't play a lot."
On how he seemed more upset than usual: "I'm upset that we lost. I think we should have won and more plays we could have made. But it's the game of football. They get paid just like us. Hats off to them. We'll go in next week and do the same thing and get back to week."
