WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Im not saying Pryor is a world beater but he is getting crapped on by a dysfunctional organization that wont give him the meaningful PT.

People say they are worried for him to make mistakes but every player makes mistakes their first couple times out on the field.

Give the guy a chance. You cant write him off as a QB until you see him play QB in the NFL.

Lots of players have been written off as backups before they got any playtime.

I think he would be better off if he moved to WR.

That is a completely different skill set. Being able to run routes, cut, catch the ball, and make moves all over the field is such a huge difference at that level. He might be able to do the fade routes in the endzone but that's about it. He wasn't drafted to play WR. Plus he wears extra socks.

I changed stow's post to Arizona instead of WR, seeing as the Cards QB situation is a mess.

That would be an upgrade for TP. But the O-line there is not good at the moment, and he might be more prone to injury while escaping pressure. But agree that a new team may be best. His situation seems eerily similar to Troys'. Just needs a chance with a team willing to give him a break.

Luckily for TP, he doesn't have the lack of height comment constantly being thrown at him. I agree that the O-line situation isn't exactly the best in Arizona, but there's opportunity there.

Terrelle wasn't fond of regular contact on scrambles. I would be worried about alligator arms over the middle.

Raiders' Terrelle Pryor gets a series
Vic Tafur
Sunday, December 16, 2012

Terrelle Pryor will remember Sunday for a long time. Not because the Rose Bowl-winning quarterback at Ohio State got on the field for the first time this season. But because he was sick.

Pryor and starting quarterback Carson Palmer both had flu-like symptoms, and Pryor threw up for the first time in his life, he said. He felt so bad that he called an ambulance.

"It was a little scary, yeah," Pryor said.

Turned out he was OK, and sirens went off later in the day when the third-string quarterback came into the game for a series in the second quarter.

Some fans have been eagerly awaiting Pryor playing since the Raiders took him in the supplemental draft in August 2011. (He got in for one play last season that was nullified by penalty.)

During his action Sunday, there was a false-start penalty, Pryor handed off the ball twice and then fired an incomplete pass to Darrius Heyward-Bey when the Chiefs gave him a different coverage than he expected.

Just like that, Pryor was done for the day.

"It was a steppingstone," he said. "I enjoyed the four plays. I was excited to get out there. I only saw four plays. Not much to pick apart. I'll be ready in practice next week."

Will he play again this season? Raiders head coach Dennis Allen was asked if the coaches need to see Pryor more to evaluate him.

"We've got a little bit of an idea of what we have in him," Allen said. "I'd like to get him into games more often, but again, I'm letting game situations dictate who plays. ... This isn't just put everybody in and let them go. ...

"We want to see him work, just like we do all the young guys, but we're trying to win football games."

It's a shame to see this much talent go to waste in Oakland. Maybe there's a place for him in the CFL.

I realize TP was the offense here in many ways, but I am struggling to understand why so many people think he really is an NFL QB. TP never had great mechanics, especially on short throws. He wasn't great in college at throwing over the middle, and wasn't the greatest at reading defenses.

I think TP is where he will always be (IMHO). A very athletic back-up that will cause a scare in some defenses (when he gets time due to a starter's injury) but without the tools to be a regular starter.
