WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Pryor has the rare combination of size and skill and the ability to compete against top competition in two sports in college.......if he goes through with it, he will arrive right before the big ten portion of the BB schedule and he will have plenty of time to adjust from football season....he will not be the main guy on the team, but adding a kid of his athletic ability is a huge advantage for the basketball team.

I agree with all of that. I guess my main point is that most of the two sport athletes that did "well" were basketball players they really do not have a finesse game. The guys I think of, Dudley and Peppers, forte was rebounding and defense. I will admit that TP's athletic ability will significantly help Ohio State's depth oh when you are away from the basketball court for 4-5 months it takes a while before you regain your shooting touch. In addition, Ohio State has plenty of wing players but I am not saying that TP will not help at all but it just will be a depth factor and maybe some quality minutes after the month of January.

Pryor wouldn't be joining this basketball team trying to "win" a spot. He'll be a fantastic role player. Imagine fighting off guys like Dex Larrimore and Ross Homan then going to the basketball floor where the guys are taller yes but half the weight and strength.

The best way Pryor would contribute to the basketball team is fundamentally. He wouldn't be asked to score much but play aggressive strong defense and rebound with abandon while Lighty, Turner, Diebler et. al catch a breather or during mop up. An extra 5 fouls at minimum against another teams scorer is a great benefit.

He may even end up saying he just wants to play Football and not play Basketball anyway considering his own words. Either way we welcome him with open arms 7 days a week.

I don't recall Schlichter ever playing basketball - and I was a season ticket holder at the time.

Of course, the problem with asking "old timers" is that you can't trust our memory.

John Lumpkin and Ricky Dudley were top-200 basketball players. There really are no recent performers at a big-time college level to which you could compare Pryor. He's not a guard a la Ward and Curry, and he's not a big guy like Peppers and the two the Bucks had. He is in an interesting position, should he come to Ohio State and attempt to make an impact in both sports. The thing he has going for him is very talented teammates on whom he can rely while he gets his basketball sense going...the thing he has going AGAINST him is that he will not get to play any patsies. The Big Ten season is right when he would be able to join the team...though it would be interesting his freshman year to see how early he could start playing.

pryor's like a smaller Lebron and anyone think Lebron couldn't have played both at OSU

I tell you onething that kinda bothered me .Sullinger didn't play wr for OSU. In my eyes he ran like 6'6 T.owens and was by far the most athetic to be a BBaLLer at OSU

thanks akronbuck, I just spent half hour on web trying to find old rosters but absolutely no luck. I was at TOSU for my first degree at that time and was sure that he at least played a handfull of games on the basketball team but no way for me to confirm it. BTW my first football tickets were front row of C deck and watching those long passes from Schlichter to Donley from that view point was a thing of beauty, alas what a waste.
