WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

With the way this class has already formed, if we pick up this guy it will, in my opinion, be the best recruiting class in my memory. (Referring to football)

The basketball class would also be fantastic which makes things that much more unbelievable for Coach Matta.

Pryor vs Mallett Match up? Like comparing a Ferrari to Lexus.

Or not, either way. Mallett is a much more accurate passer than Pryor is and has a stronger arm, but Pryor can make plays with his feet. Then again, Mallett may not be graceful out of the pocket but he delivers a pretty nasty stiff arm and he's hard to bring down considering he's bigger than a lot of linebackers. They're both really good quarterbacks with a boatload of potential. Kinda sad that Pryor only completed 54% of his passes his junior year. A little low for an "elite" QB.

I actually agree with an ESPN analyst for once (shocked gasp)...I see Terrelle getting tired of the process, especially with it getting as heated as it is. Terrelle doesn't really seem to love all the attention and I wouldn't be shocked at all if he decides before December.

I wouldn't hold my breath. He appears to be in no rush.

I know that he is a tremendous 2 sport athlete but if you does commit to Ohio State I seriously doubt if you were have much impact on the basketball court. By the time football season ends in January, I was saying that it would take him at least until February to get into basketball playing shape. In addition, we have so many wing players in 2008 that I don't see him making much of an impact on the basketball court.

I think his 1,676 yards rushing, 28 TD's rushing, makes up for that a little.

Troy Smith (remember him?) only completed 49% of his passes his senior year in a weak league.

Amazing what can happen when you actually develop your players, but I guess a Michigan man wouldn't know about that. The development of Troy Smith at Ohio State from an outstanding athlete into an outstanding quarterback can hopefully be used as a selling point for Pryor.

Anybody that claims Pryor is near a complete product is kidding themselves. He has produced pretty well for the competition he's faced and has done very well on his feet, but he has a ways to go on his accuracy and decision making. This has also been the consensus from the scouts at his 7 on 7's lately but he has all the ability in the world. So Mallett is probably a more complete QB at this point but I think both are going to be legit stars.

Wonderful.

Now back to Pryor...Mallett had his recruiting thread last year.

Grazie.

And you've seen them both play in person to make this comparison?

in the BigTen a QB like Mallet had better not get used to stiff arming LBs like Laurinitis and Freeman as they close in on him or he will get that chicken wing broken. Seriously......even Tim Tebow lowered his shoulder into defenders.

LOL.

Pryor's Junior passing stats are reported as 56.4% - not that that really matters. You must consider the receivers part in hauling in the pigskin, as well as the QB's role.

I agree with that. And yes, my % I said was wrong, sorry. Look, I think Pryor will end up being a damn good QB cut from the mold of a Troy Smith or a Vince Young. He's an amazing dual-threat because not so many QBs are 6'6 220 and run a 4.4-4.5. My only point was he needed to work on his touch and accuracy. And I know Mallett was from last year, but the guy isn't exactly chopped liver. So yes, I'm eagerly anticipating their matchups together.

By the way, assuming he comes to OSU, do you guys expect him to get some PT at maybe DE or something like that as well? I know it's not advisable to have your QB playing more than he should, but the guy is such a freak athlete I would think Tressel may line him up at DE on 3rd down possibly? Just some food for thought.

I submit is premature and inappropriate to start talking about what might be done with a recruit should he become a Buckeye. Particularly something as preposterous as playing him on D.
