On an extra-point attempt by Wilson Area, Pryor timed the snap perfectly, jumped over the center's head, landed on his feet and blocked the kick just as it came off the kicker's foot.
"I did the same thing against Laurel," Pryor said. "That time, I jumped over the line and kicked the ball off the tee before the kicker did. I swear to God. The refs thought I kicked the kicker, so they gave me a penalty."

I wouldn'r count out West Virginia in this. Apparently Huggins is calling again, and TP is listening. Huggins has been all over TP since he was in 8th grade. When Huggins went to K-state TP told him he wasn't interested in playing for him there, now that he's at WV they are talking again - very long relationship - not to be overlooked.

That said...I agree with everyone that OSU is prolly his leader right now, but there is a LONG way to go...also I would think TP knows football is the ticket for him, basketball is the side show...

Thoughts?

It really isn't a question of whether or not OSU is "prolly his leader right now"...there is no question we are his leader and several people whose opinion I thoroughly trust are convinced that we end up with him in this class...it's only a matter of time.

Being his leader and it being just a matter of time are two different things. He has only been to a few local schools and us so far. I will feel much more confident if we are still considered the favorite after he would visit Florida, which is becoming the only other school that I worry about.

But he told the PA guy before he didn't want to go to North Carolina because it was too hot. Hopefully, he goes to Florida and sees that it's even hotter.

I agree that Pryor is looking at the Buckeyes as the leader. In everything that I've read about Pryor, he wants to GO AWAY from home, but stay close enough that he can get there if he needs too. He's said that from the start. I think that crosses out Florida and SC. Florida hasn't shown any interest in him as a hoops player either...although they will. You tell me what Pryor will be thinking, however...with Ohio State offering him both from the start. With Babbitt gone, he's a natural fit as the fifth recruit on the HOOPS side in '08.

Penn State, I don't think they remain in the running. They don't recruit like Ohio State, and they'll refocus on QB's they can sign.

West Virginia is THE TEAM to look out for. That offense is perfect for him, and HE WOULD BE THE STAR on their hoops team. Of course, he didn't want to go to Pitt because it was too close, and Morgantown isn't a whole lot further away...70 miles...give or take.

I don't know...we have seven months to wait. Watching his visits will be interesting.

Listen though, he will be a Buckeye.

From what I hear from the PA recruiting writer I follow, Pryor and his people aren't fans of Bob Huggins. It's been written often that Huggins is best friends with Pryor's former AAU coach, J.O. Stright, and that Stright tried to serve Terrelle up on a platter to Huggins when he was at K-State (published reports, by the way). But now that has turned off Pryor's people, especially his football coach, who dislikes the basketball AAU coaches and considers them sleazy. So, trust me when I tell you, Pryor is not fond of playing basketball for Huggins. BUT, the writer, who like I said before is close with the Pryor family, also says that Pryor's main focus is on football and basketball is not a huge part of his decision.

Bottom line, Huggins being at WVU is not a selling point for them and he is concentrating on where he fits at football, first and foremost.

Reading stuff like that makes me go "WOW". I mean honestly, how often does a kid come a long that could excell at both QB/WR AND on the defensive line? :yow1:

are TP's posse going to be a concern down the road? i usually don't like kid's to be around TOO many "opinionated" people, b/c you never know what some of their incentives are....well, some are quite easy to figure out...$$$$$$ ka-ching
i know that the current situation with TP is very favorable to us but what if when things turn sour? THIS IS NOT a knock on the kid (TP seems like a shy, good kid) but rather a reflection of a few ugly past. (i.e. derrick morris, mo c.) i WANT this kid in this class, but, in the same time, don't want to deal with those who has acclimated themselves with TP and has other motives....
sorry for the rant. it just jumps out to me as i read the above articles and previous disccusion. what do ya'll think??

Good points and look how hard it is for a top recruit let alone a top 10 recruit nationwide. It is hard to stay grounded, and not get surrounded by people who "look out" for your best interest.

All these kids coming in have to deal with this special treatment. All you can hope for is that they are mature enough to ground themselves and learn the lessons JT and staff give them.

Has anyone heard about Pryor wanting to redshirt? Someone posted it over at my site, and I hadn't heard about it yet.

I will say this about Pryor. I'll put my faith in Tressel with this kid, to make sure that once he gets here, if he chooses Ohio State, that all the distractions will go away.

Trust me when I say this...there are people surrounding Pryor that will keep him safe and shrouded. If you've heard anything from Pryor's interviews, you can tell that the kid has a good head on his shoulders. We aren't talking about Clarett here...
