WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

It seems as though a lot of people on here think OSU is the frontrunner for Pryor. Does anyone out there know if people on other school's boards of this same opinion, namely PSU, UMich, and Florida?
From what I've been reading, most scUM fans with any knowledge of recruiting seem to think he will indeed not be a Wolverine. I have guarded optimism. I think we have a good shot, especially with Brew and Stoneburner being so active in our '08 class trying to sway him our way. It doesn't hurt having Matta in his ear as well. I mean, who wouldn't want to play behind the line JT and staff are assembling right now.

That said, even though he says he wants to stay (relatively) close to home, I'd never rule out Urban Meyer. Just my opinion.

Terrelle loved his visit to Columbus, was told by Coach Matta that he definitely had a spot with the team, and loved meeting Troy and Herbie.

Sounds like he was blown away...just from the way he described everything, I am very confident on Pryor at this point. I was a bit before but this sounded extremely positive for us. I knew if Matta and JT were in the same room with Pryor that he would have to be impressed

Terrelle is the recruit I want the most, I just hate when I hear VY comparisons. VY was one of the most electric players to ever play CFB and won an MNC to boot. I can't imagine the amount of pressure Mr. Pryor is going to feel when he finally makes his decision. Add on to that with the fact that he also wants to contribute on the basketball court and that is quite a load for an eighteen year old young man...

When I compare Pryor to VY I only do so because of the style of QB they are. Big guys, who are excellent runners, strong arms with similar throwing motions.

I don't think anybody is saying he is Vince Young. He is just Vince Young when Young was a junior in HS. There is an awful long way to go to be as good as Vince Young became and hopefully everybody understands that that's no sure thing.

I assumed that everyone who posts here speaks in terms of potential when comparing a high school athlete to a current college or pro athlete. It's hard not to make comparisons when trying to describe the potential of a blue-chip recruit, and the best way to compare in terms of size/strength/position/speed/talent/potential often is to project current levels of talent against a prior example of a similar player who may already be accomplished. I was under the impression that it was understood by all that, when someone compares TP to VY or any other current college/pro athlete, its implied that he has the potential to perform in the same way based on their similar attributes. Therefore, it shouldn't really be necessary to point out that Young has accomplished so much more, etc., etc. because everyone understands. This is not to address you in particular, NFB, but in general. Comparisons are helpful for those on the board who have not seen extensive film or games (or those of us who work in an office that blocks streaming media) to get a better idea of what the recruit may look like in film. We all understand that a high schooler could not yet have achieved what some of the most accomplished athletes in the world have.

Sorry, soapbox moment of the day...

This seems to be a day for giddy optimism, what with JT, Troy, Herbie, Brewster and crew bonding with Terrelle at camp last week. But this point is a good one to sober up by.

Urban is becoming an Urban Legend at pulling rabbits out of hats. He is scary-sneaky. And as I understand it, they have a basketball team at his school too.

Fortunately, he's pretty well set at QB for the next couple of years. And his campus is a long, long drive from Jeanette, PA.

Urban scares me a little too, but today I'm sticking with giddy optimism.
