WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

He's getting this info from Bucknuts. They have reported multiple times that there are whispers in the locker room of resentment from players towards Pryor. He presents himself great in front of the media, but there may be a different story behind the scene. May just be rumors, but no one really knows. Just like the stuff you are reading...they are speculating based on small looks at the team..

Well, for the sake of retort...I actually wouldn't be surprised if there were some issues with TP's character worth mentioning. That source just seems to be unremarkable in regard to bringing it here to this thread. It also seems a bit too far over the top and sensational to be given a second look without being from a well-known credible author.

I'd been worried about TP's ability to balance his "celebrity" with JT's character building coaching since the end of his freshman year. There were multiple times that he and Beanie got into it on the sidelines and nobody really spoke up about it on TV. He seems to complain to the refs quite often and get on his own guys when the team on a whole does something wrong.

Now, don't get me wrong...I understand that these are all things that every great football leader does and it's purely a matter of perspective and intention, something we as the outsiders don't really get much of...but I wouldn't be surprised if, with his expanding roll as the team leader and the face of the Buckeyes, we hear more and more of this from those close to the program...

Could be jealousy...could be a legitimate character issue...I'm hoping it's just a bit of crossed wires...

I don't think he is - While its clear Terrelle has great love for his friends and team, its not to say Pryor hasn't been a bit testy with his teamates even in the past. It's obviously not a huge problem otherwise I'm sure you'd see it spilling out in the teams chemistry.

I think what you see from him on gameday comes from him being a fierce competitor who wants to do nothing more than win. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong and he is a asshole that everyone on the team hates. But I highly doubt that. I don't think Tressel would ever let one of his players get so big of a head(cocky) that he thinks of himself as more important than the team.

I know he knows it, and I know his teammates know it, I just hope he doesn't make sure that they know they know it.

To me it sounds like hogwash. Every team needs a leader, and every team's leader will take care of internal strife, should it present itself... IMO #97 should be all that's needed here.

who does Pryor get testy with? Brewster? Posey? Shugarts? And last time I checked Saine and Boom were making finger tip plays for TP, something you wouldn't see if they hold a grudge against the guy. Oh, and I doubt you'll find any shred of evidence of locker room dissension by looking at Zach Boren's body language. A huge gimme a [censored] break.

It has been two years since Terrelle Pryor committed to Ohio State.

With that decision came expectations. After all, Pryor wasn?t just the best high school player in the country, he was looked at as one of those once-in-a-decade type players that change the face of a program.

A Vince Young or a Tim Tebow.

A player who is larger than life and seems to inspire the uninspired, capturing the imagination of college football fans everywhere while leading his team to glory and fame.

At least that?s what it looked like to the outside world. Inside the walls of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, however, there were much different expectations of what Pryor could bring to the Buckeye football program.

?I don?t know that I expected him after two years to have been the quarterback on two Big Ten Championship teams and taken us to two BCS games,? OSU Head Coach Jim Tressel said Tuesday during his teleconference.

?I don?t know that I thought, ?Oh boy that is going to be a walk in the park to do that.? Now am I surprised that he has been able to be a part of that? No. I don?t know that I thought that was going to be an automatic.?

Just to give my 2 cents here...i do not know pryor, i did however meet him in the weight room of the WHAC this past saturday....i was amazed at how accommodating he was to me and my friends, he took time to take a picture with me and sign a few items, very polite and before i could even ask him anything, he asked for my name, then during our conversation actually used my name...being a coach myself and being around young men all the time, i will tell you that most would not even remember your name or even have the respect to use your first name. i was impressed with him....i know things may have been different had i not been a guest at the WHAC during our interaction...just from a brief encounter with him i would say he was a very respectful young man...that being said, he does have some tremendous pressure on him to take the buckeyes to the promise land, with that pressure who wouldn't get a little chippy at times and maybe go out of character and do or say something stupid...i give him a pass on "rumors"....

If you dont hold your teammates, and ultimately yourself, accountable you cannot be an effective leader. Period. Some people can take criticism better than others. The actions of the players on the field are all I need to see in determining how they feel about Terrelle.

With what we've heard about Posey's improvement, if any one of the other WR's step up and prove themselves to be a second deep threat, TP's gonna have a lot of confidence throwing left, right, and over the middle to Sanzenbacher.

I'm expecting big things out of TP's improved mechanics...and hopefully he'll have practiced enough to commit it to muscle memory by September so he doesn't revert back in the heat of the moment...

...and the more folks start talking about his arm and how dangerous it is, the more opportunity TP's gonna find to destroy people with his legs! I love it!

that was the other thing that really impressed me at the practice...i was standing on the sideline, directly behind pryor's target....almost like he was throwing to me, and i got to tell you he looked good, and he threw the ball with a lot of velocity!
