WR Ted Ginn, Jr. (Official Thread)

I was going to pen my own reply to this...but since it's been addressed already I thought I'd just re-state some things for emphasis...

You don't think it looks bad when a former student of tOSU gets on Twitter and announces to the world he's about to toke a bowl to get his day started??

Not at all.

Or a player reacts in the way Teddy did to a random fan??

Looks bad on them. Doesn't (or shouldn't) have any effect on the university.

Beyond being very poor judgement, it gives the perception our players aren't very intelligent.

I don't see how this reflects on any of the current players. I doubt people think every Florida Gator in the history of sports is a Christian fundamentalist.

If a former Michigan player put on his facebook or Twitter account that he was starting his day with some hippy lettuce, we'd have a field day with it....(insert kinesiology degree joke here).

And if "we" acted like it said anything about the university...it would be JUST as incorrect.

I feel like it has more to do with the fact that people like to make lump generalizations when it comes to football players especially (dare I say it) black athletes. It's only one step further to find that association that has to do with playing in Columbus during their college days...

I haven't seen one mention about how Big Ben's off the field issues have reflected poorly on Miami(OH)...surely you don't believe that all of that looks bad on them?

Anyway, back to Teddy. I don't care where he goes, he's going to have to make his name on special teams. If he's one of the top WR's on any team, the team isn't going to be very successful. I don't know what it's like out in SF...but here's hoping they make Ginn a niche guy...I feel like he could have great success there...

All I have to say is: No one says "Oh Michigan State receivers are all immature bone-heads. Just look at Plax!"

I wouldn't worry about Ginn and 'Tone's actions as reflections on the university.

No one gives a shit about scUM Lite overall, why would they care about one bonehead receiver?

My bad. It was mostly tongue-in-cheek.

I should've known everyone loves Glee.
