WR Santonio Holmes (Super Bowl XLIII MVP)

I am sure the team has been working on a few special plays just for scUM. There's no doubt about that...you always have one eye on scUM...but you never lose focus of the team that's in front of you for next week. I'm pretty sure the whole team is looking at this thing as a 3 game season...where 3-0 is the goal.

How good is Tressel?

I don't get to see much of the games and have to listen over the Internet. And I see what you folks write, which sometimes takes me right to Woody Hayes Drive! We often forget how much the Internet has improved our lives.

I honestly don't know how good Tressel. I think he does give the Buckeyes a lot of the right values. Anybody remember John Cooper and all those "choke"eyes giggles in the media? "Can't win the big games, etc."? Things have changed a lot, eh?

If Tressel is anything, he's aware that Buckeyes around the world will be calling for his scalp if he cannot beat Michigan at home and a lot of the time in Ann Arbor. That buttoning down of the offense last week was for a purpose? Let's be honest (without opening that discussion again about the young team and 14 players...), we aren't a national championship team this year but we damn well might be next year or the following year.

Tressel knows the score. After it all fell apart this year, he can only salvage things by beating UM. He's not going to play to lose at MSU or Purdue. He probably thinks that he can beat both of them with some luck.

He can talk all he wants about a week at a time and etc. To my mind, he may think that Woody over emphasized The Game and maybe lost a few he shouldn't have because of the pressure he placed on the team.

But I have no illusions and neither does Mr Carr. Master strategist or not, he's been working on plans to beat UM and if that means a boring conservative offense, he won't worry too much about how much we criticise him.

I don't think this has anything to do with beating Michigan. Sure he may prepare a little more and more every day throughout the year. But come on, this week is all about beating Michigan State. Next week will be all about beating Purdue. The week after that will then be about beating scUM. I don't think he's looking that far ahead, because generally what the coach does, the players do. And that would be disastrous.

Well, you could be right. I still think that he will be putting some new things into the offense that he may well use in any of the three games. And that he will be holding some things back in reserve for UM. I think he said something to that effect a few years ago.

Regarding AJ Hawk...

I realize you guys might find this kinda far fetched, but a girl I know and trust went to high school at Centerville with AJ and Nugent (she says I look like him (Nuge), if I could only kick like him I'd be making 7 figures). She has said it wouldn't be like AJ to declare early. At the Penn State game she told me she recently ran into his mother, and she reconfirmed this.

I think he is going to stay, since recently lots of focus has been put on Ginn. If Holmes were to go i dont't think he would be a high draft pick ,which he can be. He would gor 3rd and up.
