WR Santonio Holmes (Super Bowl XLIII MVP)

...Ginn...they need to get im in the offense while he is there because with his speed he can could go pro in a second if he had the chance.

Now we know why we frown upon junior high school members. :roll1: Uh, Ginn ain't going anywhere for a minimum of three years, and not until he learns to hold onto the passes. By the way, the state to the immediate east of Ohio is spelled "Pennsylvania".

Tressel is the master sandbagger. He is playing a one game season right now..."the game." Just like he did in 2001. I can assure you with all the crybabies on BN about an OC, floyd carr is sweating thinking about how tressel is so predictable he could fool those kids at any time and how the teams best players will be fresh since they haven't played that much. Brandon Joe, Smith, mo hall, pittman, AS, fox, Ginn(played but not tackled much) all those redshirts that came off in game 7(second half of season) etc. not to mention the genious of he will have two experience qb's should one get hurt we won't miss a beat.

Notice how brandon joe mentioned "the game" twice in his post game interviews.

Amen. I've been saying that to my friends for some time, that he realizes glory this season is beyond reach (he had to realize that after Iowa, if not a lot sooner), so it is much more important to get your key players touches, but not give away your big plays until you need to.

However I think the next three weeks will start revealing what Tressel has been locking away. MSU and or Purdue will require a lot to walk away victorious.

Yet I think all of us would look to next year with a smile on our face if we lose 1 or both of the next two and win THE GAME. Losing the first two would not be upsets by any means, and beating UM again would give us momentum going into the next few years of amazing OSU & UM teams.

I'd like to think Tressel is playing a 3 game season right now...with emphasis on game 3. I think Tressel needs to get win number 6 for a Bowl game before he really focuses on beating scUM. We need a bowl game!!!! This young team needs the practice!

Holmes is getting lots of touches. Ginn is just so good that he's getting touches too. I love having both guys. We have 2 of the best athletes in the Big 10. Holmes needs better hands though. Holmes is a little stronger than Ginn. I hope Holmes comes back next year...him and Ginn could make a huge difference next year. Especially in special teams. They both make each other better. Holmes hasn't had the season he needs to be a high draft pick. The way the season has gone so far, I don't think anybody on the Buckeyes would be wise in leaving early. Ginn may be the best NFL prospect...but right now he can't leave for 2 more years. I hope it stays that way. This is why playing blue chip Freshman is critical. Red Shirts are useless on great players, because then you only get 2 years out of them instead of 3.

I can't imagine holmes leaving early. He has not had the statistics or the consistency (fumble) to back it up. I think he'll be a good NFL speed WR, but he will improve his stock immensely if he sticks around.

I think most of the starters should be back next year, including the linebacking core. Does anyone think AJ Hawk will take off for the NFL next year, or will he wait until he can be the star of a better OSU team?

Santonio hasn't been forgoten. In fact he was just named a semi-finalist for the Biletnikoff Award ... one of 11 to be considered for the Nations Best wide receiver.

From the Big Ten web site:

Big Ten Wideouts Tabbed Biletnikoff Semifinalists: The Big Ten led the way with three of the 11 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, which is symbolic of college football's best wide receiver. The three Conference wideouts on the list were Michigan's Braylon Edwards, Ohio State's Santonio Holmes and Purdue's Taylor Stubblefield. Three finalists for the award will be named November 15 while the winner will be announced on December 9 at the annual ESPN awards show. The Big Ten has claimed the Biletnikoff Award on three occasions, most recently when Michigan State's Charles Rogers was honored in 2002.

EDIT: FWIW ...
Santonio Holmes
2002 - Redshirt
2003 - Freshman
2004 - Sophomore

I think it would be great for him to with the Biletnikoff. However, he would have to pile on some big numbers and Ohio State couldn't lose another game. Even then, if he wants to improve his stock he'll come back another year.

is this a joke? seriously? do we still have people confusing Tressel with some kind of genious game-planner and strategist?.........he's a lot of good things, but not that............wait now that i think about it, i think he told the guys to lose to northwestern and look like hell against iowa to throw everyone off so we can stun Michigan and stun the media next year, ahhhhhhhhhh it's so clear to me now........this is about as much of a revelation as the person who said he runs a simple predictable offense because he doesn't want to show his playbook to future opponents
