Hit on Moon stirs up bad memories for LeBron: Windhorst Beat Blog
By Brian Windhorst
December 15, 2009

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Thoughts after the Cavs' 99-89 victory over the Nyets, er, Nets:

? The flagrant-2 was the correct call on Devin Harris' foul on Jamario Moon in the fourth quarter. He didn't go for the ball, he hit Moon in the head, and Moon fell hard. But no one after the game felt it was malicious and it didn't seem to be.

In the locker room after the game, LeBron talked about how those types of plays give him a chill as he thinks back to two plays on him when he was 17. One, in a game against Brush High School, former Ohio State WR Roy Hall undercut LeBron on a drive to the basket. Gloria James nearly went out on the court to take revenge on Hall after that one.

Colts waive Hall
Posted: May 4, 2010

The Indianapolis Colts on Monday waived wide receiver Roy Hall, a fifth-round draft choice who over three injury-plagued seasons caught one pass for 9 yards. The club made no announcement.

Hall was big (6-3, 240) and fast but he was never able to fulfill expectations that accompanied him when he arrived from Ohio State in 2007.

His rookie season ended with a shoulder injury suffered in a violent special teams collision with Houston's Cedric Killings during the third game. He played in four games in 2008, mostly on special teams, then was placed on injured reserve last August and missed the season.

Veteran receiver inks one-year deal Aaron Wilson
May 12, 2010

Veteran free agent wide receiver Roy Hall has signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, according to a league source.

The Indianapolis Colts placed Hall on waivers recently.

The imposing 6-foot-3, 240-pound former Ohio State fifth round draft pick was selected by the Colts in the 2007 NFL draft.

Hall spent his rookie season on injured reserve following a special-teams collision with Houston Texans defensive tackle Cedric Killings during the first half of the season.

He caught one pass for nine yards in 2008, registering three special-teams tackles.

Hall was waived-injured by the Colts last August before eventually rejoining the team.

Hall caught 13 passes for 147 yards as a senior for the Buckeyes, registering 16 receptions for 134 yards as a junior and 17 receptions for 230 yards as a sophomore.

I always thought that Hall would make a good NFL receiver because I always thought that he had very good hands and decent speed. Unfortunately, it looks like the injury bug has bitten him. Hope you can get better and prove himself in the NFL.

Brush and Ohio State graduate Roy Hall talks to players at his DRIVEN Foundation Football Camp.

LYNDHURST One of Brush?s favorite sons returned this past weekend. Roy Hall had his third annual DRIVEN Foundation Football Camp.

The camp consisted of a seven-on-seven tournament with his alma mater Brush, along with Shaker Heights, Warrensville Heights, Shaw and Akron East.

Shaw defeated Warrensville Heights and received $1,000 ($500 from the DRIVEN Foundation and $500 from the NFL) for its football program. Warrensville Heights received $500 ($250 from the DRIVEN Foundation and $250 from the NFL) as well.

?I have the opportunity to come back and help young people realize their dream,? Hall said. ?It?s not just about football. We talk about life and helping in the long run. I try to get them to recognize how important education is.?

The DRIVEN Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to providing a continuum of educational programming along with support services to under-served populations throughout central Ohio and its surrounding cities. Visit drivenfoundation.org for more information.

Hall played wide receiver for Ohio State after graduating from Brush. He also spent three years playing for the Indianapolis Colts after they made him a fifth-round draft choice in the 2007 draft. He was last on the roster of the New Orleans Saints before being released with an injury settlement.

Hall said he?d love to have a chance to play for the Browns.

?I called Robo (Brian Robiskie),? Hall said. ?We?re pretty close. I?ve enjoyed watching him blossom into a great receiver.?

Robiskie played at Chagrin Falls High School and at Ohio State with Hall.

Hall is one of the few that have been fortunate enough to be in the same locker room as Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.

?When you play with greats, you become great,? Hall said. ?They?re workaholics and leaders. It?s contagious. You want to do what they say.?
