WR/RB Lamaar "Flash" Thomas (transfer to New Mexico)

If he gets good blocking for the line, then definately. Pop in the Army game. When he and Pryor ran the zone read option, he ripped off a couple huge runs right up the middle. Give him a lane/hole to hit, and I think he has the ability to run inside. I wouldnt line him up in our traditional running sets, but I think he could be very effective out of the shotgun next to Pryor

Navy???

I think it's a bit premature to compare Flash to McCluster or Harvin. Both of those guys are dynamic. Flash may have it in him, I guess the coaches haven't seen it as of yet. I think he'll be great at OSU, he just hasn't found his role yet.

Flash and Duron are two totally diffrent kinds of WR. I wouldn't say Duron has passed Flash on the depth chart.

They may be different types of WR and play different positions, but who is getting more PT and targets? If the coaches thought LT deserved more touches they would find a way to get him more involved.

Anyone else think Flash was just a little bit bummed that the return team didn't block for him on any return like they did for Ray last weekend? I've been dying to see Flash get up to full speed, haven't seen him get there yet in the Scarlet and Gray.

Maybe he will get his comeuppins this weekend!

I Would really like to see Lamaar get a couple carries,a reverse,a screen pass, anything!!!..this week now that Boom isnt starting. I know that will never happen but I really think he could contribute to the offense if given a chance.

Never say never...Lamaar was in the shotgun next to Terrelle Pryor for some plays in the Indiana game. I think they are slowly trying to work him into the offense in other ways than WR. The next three games should be golden opportunities to use him (or give enough looks to have Michigan, Iowa, and Penn State gameplan for it).

This would be huge for our offense if we find away to work him in.

My recollection of last season was that Flash had a bigger role in the offense than he has this year--not that it was necessarily a big role--but they did work him in more.

There was one big change.....Duron Carter happened. He got jumped by a true freshman in the WR depth chart.

Duron and Flash don't play the same (WR) position. It's more like the emergence of Sanzenbacher and the return from the doghouse of Ray Small happened.

Flash is still one of the best kick return men in the nation, in terms of YPR. Look for him to keep doing well in that area and get some shotgun snaps in the coming weeks as Tressel does his yearly gearing up of the offensive variety before the Michigan game.

In an interview earlier this year, Jim Tressel himself said that the "WR" depth was as follows keeping in mind Ray Small was in the doghouse at the time.

Posey, Sanzenbacher, Duron, Taurian and Lamaar.

Yes but if Lamaar was to jump someone, it would be a slot guy before it would be an outside receiver. That's all I was saying.

In any case I hope Lamaar gets more snaps! Who knows maybe they were going to expand his package from the Indiana game, but due to only having the ball for a quarter didn't have sufficient time to put it in.
