Ohio wide receiver/cornerback Ray Small (5-11, 170, 4.4), claims Ohio State and USC edge out LSU, Florida and North Carolina (all offered). He has over 40 offers.
"Ohio State and Southern Cal are my favorites right now," said Small, of Glenville High School in Cleveland. "They are definitely at the top of my list and they are about even with each other.
"Ohio State is my in-state team and not far from home and they have a good program. They're always strong and their coaches have really treated me well. They really want me.
"Southern Cal has a relaxed football program -- you can go down there and be yourself. The coaches are cool.
"I went down there in September with my teammate, Robert Rose, and had a real good time. It was a great experience. We got to go to Hollywood and hang out. I think I could fit in out there.
"They are the only team that isn't looking at me as a receiver. They are looking at me to play corner," he said. "Receiver is my preferred position, but I will play corner if they want me to. They have indicated that I could play as a true freshman.
"I will set up more official visits at the end of the season.
"Basically, I want to go to a place where they have great coaches and I can play as a true freshman," he said.
Small reports 15 receptions for 600 yards and eight touchdowns, 300 yards on special teams for three more scores and 15 tackles on defense--through eight games.
Glenville (8-0) travels to Lincoln West (Cleveland) on Oct. 21. 3.8 GPA/16 ACT with October retake

Am planning on watching Glenville tomorrow vs. Lincoln West....can't find game time. Do any of you have info on what time game begins on Friday afternoon? Really looking forward to seeing the Glenville kids play.
Thanks. :osu:
Of course USC sells early PT.
*sigh*
we sell early PT at both positions. Holmes, Gonzalez, Ginn, Lyons, Hall, Robiskie all saw the field as frosh (I can't remember where Hall started, but the other 5 saw the field at WR that first year).

At the wrong position... Ray wants to play WR, USC wants him as a CB.
