I thought that Campbell was a 4star kid in HS

A little disingenuous about Parris.......he was highly rated, but his age concerned coaching staffs because the thought was he'd need at least 2-3 years to develop his body enough to play. It can probably be checked, but he's got to be one of the youngest players ever to enter a Power 5 program. He was only 17 when he entered college, and he was already small in frame to begin with.

So Meyer is exaggerating a bit...his talent was undeniable and he had a lot of interest....but a lot of schools were also iffy on his prospects because most teams aren't looking to stash guys for 3 years down the road.
