THREE POTENTIAL BREAKOUT PLAYERS FOR OHIO STATE'S 2015 SEASON

During last season’s spring practice, Ohio State’s coaching staff and fellow players were raving about Lee at the outside linebacker position, even though he had never played it before. Turns out, they were right as Lee became one of the Buckeyes’ breakout defensive stars on their national title run in 2014.

If there was a player this spring who earned similar praise, it was wide receiver Noah Brown. Last year, as a true freshman, Brown saw a few snaps toward the end of the season at the H-back position, but wasn’t necessarily featured in the offense.

With the departures of Devin Smith and Evan Spencer at wide receiver, Brown has a chance to emerge as one of those go-to guys on the outside for whomever is taking snaps for the Buckeyes at quarterback this season.

Just looking at the depth chart and noticed that we have 8 receivers who have been with the program more than one season (nine depending on how you count Campbell).

Surprisingly all of those players have redshirted except one* - and I am posting in his thread.

* - Dixon is not officially a redshirt but it is presumed he will be granted a medical RS after he has used his first four years.

New and Improved Noah Brown Confident and Ready to Contribute for Buckeyes

If you have seen any of the practice highlights that Ohio State has been posting on YouTube over the last two weeks, you should have noticed No. 80 in Scarlet, repeatedly making the difficult catch look increasingly routine.

That's sophomore receiver Noah Brown. You may remember him from such plays last year as blocking and being a decoy, but this year he is being counted on to be a playmaker, and he has put in the necessary work to make sure that happens.

At the top of that list of things to work on was reshaping his body to look like the receiver he was supposed to be when he was recruited by Ohio State, rather than the 245-pound athlete who showed up.

"I’ve lost about 23 pounds," he said. "It was really hard. I had to make a conscious decision with me and Coach Mick toward the end of last season to really tighten up on what I’m eating and how I’m working out, and getting some extra cardio in and stuff like that. They’ve really done a good job of helping me. It’s definitely improved my gear."

Hope his injury isn't too serious. I loved seeing in S&G days the screen they threw to Braxton with Noah out front blocking. He was going to be huge in that area this year, not to mention catching some passes and making plays.
