Best odds on MHJr as of early this morning are +2500 at FanDuel. One thing Marvin has going in his favor is a big prime time matchup on national TV (NBC) with Wisconsin, while JJ & Jayden are idle with bye weeks. Bo Nix will have to navigate Utah's defense, which has developed a habit of ending Pac-12 QBs Heisman campaigns.

Sports media is of course being stupid about the Heisman. Penix poor performance means little. Yes, it looks bad since it was against a bad opponent. But that's not how the Heisman works. You can stink against bad teams as long as your team still wins, if you have great performances against good teams that are on primetime TV.

USC defense is god-awful but if he throws for 6 TDs against them, the dumb media will be salivating all over him.

McCarthy and Harrison have no shot if Penix stays undefeated and has Oregon type performances against the ranked teams on UW schedule - unless one of them goes absolutely insane during The Game.

Unfortunately, Harrison already missed out on going crazy against ND because the media will always pay attention to that (see Desmond Howard)

I would have MH Jr as a longshot for sure, but nobody is really pulling away for the Heisman. If Marv goes off from here on out (especially against *ichigan), then I think he has been good enough to put himself in a spot to take the trophy. Not saying it is likely, but this year seems different to me with a lot of the top picks not playing particularly well.

It’s so interesting to watch a player who’s the son of a HOFer, who was blessed with superior genes. But it shows that they have to have an immense work ethic to live up to the name. Watching the contrast between MHjr and Duron Carter is a case study in this exact thing. Carter should’ve been everything that MHjr is right now. But one kid will be using a jugs machine in a hotel lobby at 2am, and the other would be in a frat party at 2am

Duron Carter was typically passed out at our frat parties around 11pm, you're giving him too much credit. But seriously, I'm pretty sure he never even attended a class. Missed every tutoring session. He could have been the real thing too like you said.

Luckily Marv is polar opposite and exactly what you want on your roster. Hoping he shreds the second half of the year and makes a Heisman run. He's earned it.
