WR Marvin Harrison, Jr. (Silver Football, 2x Unanimous All-American, 2023 Biletnikoff winner, Heisman Finalist, Arizona Cardinals)

Also, the more I think about this, the less I like the apology to Harrison. "Night Night." Doesn't that mean they knocked him out? And I don't mean knocked him out of the game - I mean knocked him unconscious. Maybe he wasn't unconscious, but a concussion is close-ish, right? You don't label something "Night Night" when you're down 13 points (or maybe it was 10 at that point). Maybe you label something "Night Night" when you're up 10 and you score another touchdown. But not when you're down 10 and you make a defensive play. You might say "Night Night" when you knock someone out. They were absolutely celebrating knocking Harrison out.

I agree. You get a point for the apology to Harrison, but you didn't address the accusation that you stole the photo from Tom Orr.
Also, did Harrison agree that the hit was legal? I must have missed that.

I believe the part about Harrison confirming is that he confirmed he was inured on the play. 100% speculation on my part, but I'm assuming he was confirming his unconsciousness.

Refresh my memory here; the call on the field was targeting and was reversed. Thus the play counted, and the game moved on to 4th down.

What if the play had been called unnecessary roughness? - pretty sure there's no revue of unnecessary roughness calls. That would have resulted in a first down and a 15 yd/half the distance penalty.

If the play is called both unnecessary roughness and targetting, only the targetting part is reviewable and reversible, N'cest pas?

Yeah they have called unnecessary roughness with targeting before and they can only take off the targeting

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of the best players in all of college football. Given his bloodlines, it makes sense. His is the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Super Bowl champion Marvin Harrison Sr., who shattered records with the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Peyton Manning. While he was doing so, he made sure his son was developing along the way.

“I’ve seen him grow,” Harrison Sr. said in a recent interview with WSYX. “When he was younger, having missed a practice or a game, I used to film the games and then when they were over on Saturday nights or Sunday mornings, we would watch it and just go over it and just go over it very thoroughly with him at a young age. I guess from whenever he could start playing, so seven, eight, nine, 10, we were always watching and just learning. To this day I think he’s always remembered these times when I’ve yelled at him, but I think it has paid off, so.”

The elder Harrison also detailed how he handled things once his son hit high school.

“Once he got to high school, I sort of just stepped back a little bit and just let him be himself,” Harrison Sr. said. “He’s turned into what he is today.”

Harrison Sr.’s tutelage has come a long way. Harrison Jr. was a 2022 Biletnikoff Award finalist and unanimous All-American after hauling in 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns from likely 2023 NFL Draft first-round quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Harrison Jr. did all of this as just a sophomore. He was limited in his opportunities as a freshman, as he played behind a pair of first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft in Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. Harrison waited for his turn, though, and it paid off.

“He comes in here every day, every night,” Stroud said of Harrison. “You know if you're in here, Marvin's probably in here. So just the work ethic speaks for itself and it pays off when you put in that work… He's special, man. And you can just tell he'll continue to do great things.”

Jesus Mary and Joseph. WTF are we doing? I really hope he was just having some fun out there. Maybe he's the guy back when all we have to do is fair catch it to win a game.

I would hope so, I could get him just fair catching it with his sure hands. Then again, I don't recall Egbuka every having issues fielding punts right? Could just be getting depth so he can catch one if Egbuka goes down. Gotta love the offseason and speculation over things like MH returning punts lol.

Egbuka is out this spring too.

But this fanbase (not you guys) has never freaked out about little things in the spring before....right?!

I would say he's just getting some reps if I hadn't seen how they operate at PR. Wilson was the PR 2 years ago (taking a few huge shots in the process), would have been JSN last year, then it was Egbuka. it will be Egbuka & Harrison this year. It makes absolutely no sense to me and drives me insane. You have 8 top 100 WR's on the roster. Let one of the younger guys get some meaningful game experience and let him feel like he's a part of the program. And eliminate injury risk to your best player. If you can't train one of those guys to safely catch punts and occasionally make the first guy miss I don't what know what to say.
