WR Kyion Grayes (transfer to Cal)

Imagine having to clarify which year you are thinking about

ABSOLUTELY LOADED. I just came to the realization yesterday that every single scholarship receiver on Ohio State's current roster was a top-100 prospect coming out of high school.

... except Chris Olave.

Let's take a look!

  • 2021 – Emeka Egbuka (#9)
  • 2021 – Marvin Harrison Jr. (#96)
  • 2021 – Jayden Ballard (#98)
  • 2020 – Julian Fleming (#3)
  • 2020 – Jaxon Smith-Njigba (#29)
  • 2019 – Garrett Wilson (#20)
  • 2018 – Kamryn Babb (#73)
  • 2018 – Chris Olave (#399)
So basically, the only thing keeping Ohio State from claiming that every receiver on the roster is the best returning receiver in college football. Cool!

This is an absolutely INSANE piece of info! And crazy thing is, when Wilson and Olave leave, the guys coming in the 2022 class will only continue this end :biggrin2::yow1:

When Ohio State first started recruiting Chandler (AZ) receiver Kyion Grayes, he was not a marquee national name in the recruiting landscape. But Ohio State wide receivers coach Brian Hartline isn’t out here star chasing. Hartline ignored the three-star ranking that was on Grayes at the time and made the 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect a priority for the Buckeyes in a landscape where they had no shortage of options at wide receiver.

“It meant a lot to me,” Grayes said of Hartline showing faith in him early on. “Being a three-star kid, ranked number 300 in the nation, you’d never expect a super big school like that to come looking for you. For coach Hart to really throw the rankings out the window and actually come look at the type of person that I was on and off the field, it means a lot to me. So that plays a huge role (in his decision to commit to Ohio State).”

"This is an accomplishment that you dream about," Grayes told 247Sports. "It means a lot. You watch this game on TV every year, so to be able to actually be in the position that a lot of great players have been in feels amazing. Being able to play with some of your future teammates and some of your future opponents is great. I can't wait to compete against the best guys in the country.
