WR Jameson Williams (transfer to Alabama, Detroit Lions)

But he did start last year. He just wasn’t going to be WR1, which is what he wanted to be. It’s not a shot at Jameson to say that he’s not better than Olave or Wilson (both 1st rounders.) And JSN just fits this offense better in the slot.

I understand that it probably upset him, but fans will be fans and say shit like that to fans of other teams. But his comment of “Ohio State fans disowned me, they don’t claim me” just isn’t true at all.

And my cousin, who follows Jameson on Instagram, sent me screenshots back in September when certain CFB pages were posting stuff about Ohio State getting beat by Oregon, Jameson was liking those posts. So all of this comes off as Jameson being salty that he having a monster year and Ohio State fans aren’t saying, “I sure wish we had Jameson back!” Happy for him. He’s having a great year! Keep it up, except when/if you play Ohio State!

First you say OSU fans didn’t disown him, which is false. You can go look on Twitter and see what’s been said about him there. Some have been dicks to him. Just because you didn’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.

Then you said he’s salty because OSU fans aren’t saying they want him to come back…?

Yeah…no reason to think some OSU fans are the problem. Smh.

Did I say that? Or did I say that his comments and actions “come off as salty.” Those are not the same thing.

Also, you could say “Ohio State fans supported him” and find a ton more evidence to support that than his statement of “they disowned me.”

But moving on...it’s TTUN week! This whole conversation with s irrelevant! And nobody can dispute that!

Are we really going there? Arguing about what some twats said on Twitter to the guy? If he let a couple faceless Twitter profiles rile him up and turn him against the thousands that wished him well, that’s his prerogative but it’s charmin freakin soft as well.

I like the framing of “a couple”. Real slick lol.

You were charmin freakin soft at 20 or 21 too.

What are you, his dad? “A couple” is a figure of speech to signify it was the minority- which it was, if you actually read any social media regarding Williams and his transfer. That’s not to imply anything on social media even means shit. Because I have little doubt somebody was a big meanie in his DMs or even out in the open to him. Acting like that somehow negates the numerous well wishes he received from Buckeye Nation is ludicrous.

We could have an in-depth discussion about how “some OSU fans are a problem,” but what exactly is the point? Do you (or Williams) have some illusion there isn’t a segment of Alabama fans that would throw him under a bus in a heartbeat? That is probably the funniest part to me. The whole “XYZ fans are awful!” Newsflash: fan is short for fanatic, and there’s myriad idiots… in every fan base. Shocking, I know.

He’s no Burrow, that’s for sure. Kid belongs in the SEC, though. Still wish him well, and that’ll be my last word on him.

I’m his dad because I see his point of view? So, you can acknowledge there were fans being dicks to him but don’t see how a young man could become emotional about it?

I didn’t ask what a segment of Alabama fans would do. I pointed out why Jameson could be upset. Too bad you can’t see it, macho man.

The problem with saying he wasn’t one of the best three is that it suggests the roles of the top 3 are interchangeable. They’re not. He wasn’t jumping ahead of Olave, period, and that was his comp. I’m happy for him that he caught the back-breaker against Clemson in the semi-final last year and wish he would have stuck it out, but I can also recognize pop’s lament that he probably should have been ahead of Wilson on KO return given his production this season.

He chose the path that was best for him, and it’s worked out for both him and Ohio State too.

All that said, watch him block on run plays in the Texas A&M game and you’ll fast figure out why Coach Hartline wasn’t giving him first half, game is still in doubt reps.

Good news for him is that NFL teams really don’t care if WRs can run block. He’s thriving in his wheel house. Hats off to him for going from an OSU backup to future Day 1 or Day 2 pick in the NFL Draft.

My only real regret is he’s single-handedly padding Bryce Young’s stats for the Heisman opposite CJ Stroud.

The most disturbing trend in the world today is the rise of polarization. The ecological fallacy arises when someone makes an inference about an individual based on aggregate data for a group. It is among the most foolish "rationales" for an argument. I stand with cmstophe, Dryden, and others. It is common cause that people supporting Ohio State have supported and not supported this kid. It is common cause that nobody here truly knows what this kid thinks about Ohio State or the gratitude for the development he received there. Why argue about this?

This is Xichigan week. We are not here for manufactured outrage or cynical trolling. We are here to support the stone-cold machine that takes the field in Ann Arbor this week.
