Spencer Holbrook: Jameson Williams would put on speedy show
Jameson Williams came to Ohio State boasting Ted Ginn-like speed. He would’ve showed that off in the spring game, catching two touchdown passes on short catches, which turned into long runs. The sophomore wide receiver had a little bit of drop issues last season in his appearances, but another season with Brian Hartline will cure those concerns. Williams figures to be a playmaker for the Buckeyes this season, and it all starts with a dazzling spring game performance.

Just sayin': Very few DBs are going to catch him from behind, "speed" just runs in his family.....

James and Tianna Williams-Jamerson and Jaden Williams: Tianna Williams (nee’ Swinney) was a three-time state champion in the 400-meter dash at Sumner High School. James Williams was also a standout member of the Bulldogs’ track team and a state champion in the 4x400-meter relay. Older son Jameson Williams was a two-sport star at Cardinal Ritter in football and track and field. The five-star athlete is now a freshman football player at The Ohio State University. Jaden Williams was a state-champion in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles at Cardinal Ritter.

Jameson Williams | WR | No. 6
Now back to the aforementioned Jameson Williams, or Juiceman if you prefer. Williams didn’t get a ton of opportunities in 2019, only catching six balls for 112 yards and a touchdown, but as he showed on his scoring play against the Miami Red Hawks (in a clip package put together by our old friend Colton Denning), his burst is unbelievable.



I think that Williams will end up starting on the outside opposite Olave, but with the way that Hartline has utilized his incredibly talented WR room over the past two seasons, he is likely to have the opportunity to make an impact even if he is technically a reserve.

However, you can’t not be excited by the flashes of speed and athleticism that the Juiceman showed as a true freshman in 2019, and if he is given the chance to take the top off of a defense, he should be in line to turn in even more highlight-reel plays as a sophomore.

I wanted to bump this young man's thread. Too many time's I've heard our media predict someone will take over the #3 WR from Williams and I think that's way off.

It's not just the number but he reminds me so much of Smith from Alabama. Same measures and same kind of speed too. I think Williams is without question one of our best 3 and if made a priority he can do big things. With all the throws going to Olave and Wilson Williams should have 1 on 1 at all times. We need to make teams pay for this because he has the speed to be a game breaker.

I can't wait to see what he does next year because I think he's going to surprise people.

I'm conflicted with my thoughts on Williams(like many are). Olave and Wilson are the obvious leaders and most talented players in the WR room. But whenever Wiliams is mentioned, it's ONLY about his speed. He's become a one trick pony(though that's a great trick to have), and there are some young WRs behind him who seem more versatile and bring more to the table, but don't have his speed. So the question becomes, do you sit the player with immense speed for a player who you can move around at multiple spots(JSN), has more size and possibly better hands(Scott), or someone who's a combination of a higher end version of the last 2 examples(Fleming). Williams will be arguably the most intriguing player because what do you do with him? I thought a long time ago that he should be a PR or KR, but he's a guy who will be obviously rotated in and out with the aforementioned upcoming Soph class. Because the same mismatches he creates with his speed, Fleming/Scott can also create with their size, and I think JSN can create with his route running.
