Glad I wasn't the only one who caught that. They could of taken coverage from any game that '05/'06 season, but it had to be the NC.

Reminded me of the Christ Vance catch versus Purdue when I first saw it, but now that I look back [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feBEFypINE8"]here[/ame] Evans catch is just that much more ridiculous.

I don't have a link. Just going by looking at them on the replay in the video. Only two photographers either had their cameras ready and pointed right at the play. Others were just wathcing with their camera's pointed elsewhere (no doubt due to the telephoto lens making it too close to capture well) or were fumbling with their cameras.

That's a pretty tough spot (unless you're the 3rd-5th photographer on a team), because you can't even see Evan until he's 5 yards in front of you (blocked by the chain gang, microphones, coaches, balll boys), which is why many of us steer clear. Basically if you draw a line between the catch and braxton, your field of vision is blocked off between that line and the sideline.

Kudos to the unknown photographer for snagging that shot of Evan.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Freshman wide receiver Evan Spencer's spectacular one-handed catch against Akron on Sept. 3 has been nominated for the 2011 Geico Play of the Year, sports marketing firm Intersport announced Monday.

Spencer's 33-yard grab is up against three other plays from the first weekend of action: an interception from Iowa's Shaun Prater, a kickoff return from West Virginia's Tavon Austin and a touchdown run from Oklahoma's Dominique Whaley.

Each week for nine weeks fans will vote on four incredible college football plays that have been nominated as the Play of the Year. *WR Evan Spencer was carted off the practice field with what looked like a serious injury Friday.

*It was initially believed to be a possible ACL injury, but Matt Barnes at NBC4 is reporting a deep bone bruise to the left knee.

*According to Barnes, Spencer was blocking during a kickoff drill when he took a shot to the knee. He looked spooked as he was being carted to the locker room.

The Buckeyes got a scare when Evan Spencer bumped knees with a teammate during a drill on Friday and had to be carted off the practice field.

A closer examination revealed only a bruise -- and allowed Meyer to exhale and plan on getting the blossoming wide receiver back either Monday or Tuesday.
