WR Emeka Egbuka (All B1G, All-American)

Who y'all think will finish with the best season out of this group?

Marvin Harrison, Jr. and Michael Hall, Jr. could have easily been on that list too.

This is a weird play. Did Emeka and CJ make reads on the fly because the safety went with Stover? Why is he looking over his outside shoulder and why is the pass to his outside shoulder?

No. That’s a called route. It’s a counter when the mesh routes are taken away. Day has been calling that since he got to OSU. I vividly remember Johnnie Dixon scoring against Penn State in 2017 from the same route. Also remember it being called against Northwestern and Pat Fitzgerald talking about the play design and how good it was because they were expecting the crosser.

I think that was the catch of the night. From my angle in the stands I thought it was going to be intercepted. Stroud really threaded the needle on that throw and Egbuka snatched a TD from the jaws of an interception.

But they weren't done:

EMEKA EGBUKA WILL CONTINUE TO BE AGGRESSIVE CATCHING PUNTS DESPITE MUFFED BALL AGAINST RUTGERS

Ohio State wants Emeka Egbuka to continue to be aggressive fielding punts.

A former baseball player, Egbuka has often looked like an outfielder as Ohio State’s punt returner this season. The sophomore wide receiver hasn’t been timid about playing the ball in the air, often chasing it down even when it’s away from him or over his head.
That strategy backfired on Rutgers’ first punt against Ohio State last weekend. Egbuka’s attempt to make an over-the-shoulder catch of Adam Korsak’s punt went off his hands and Rutgers recovered the loose ball inside the 20-yard line – a turnover that led to a touchdown that gave the Scarlet Knights an early 7-0 lead in the game.
