Duron Carter, son of Middletown native and former Ohio State receiver Cris Carter, accepted a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes on Friday, June 20, giving the team 18 verbal commitments among seniors-to-be.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is the 73rd-ranked wideout nationally. He picked OSU over Auburn, Wisconsin, West Virginia and LSU.
Carter is the third receiver to commit to the Buckeyes in the 2009 class, joining Chris Fields, the top-ranked player at his position in Ohio, and James Jackson, the No. 1 receiver in Michigan.
"He has tremendous potential," said Bill Kurelic, recruiting analyst for Bucknuts.com, about Carter. "I think he's just scratching the surface. He's getting better and better.
"He's got the body to fill out. ... I think he's going to be in the 6-3, 200-pound range in a couple years."

I remember him saying that if Duron wanted to wear #2 he'd let him have it assuming he committed.
Welcome home Duron!
