Cris Carter's son commits to Buckeyes' 2009 class

Duron Carter, son of Middletown native and former Ohio State receiver Cris Carter, accepted a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes on Friday, June 20, giving the team 18 verbal commitments among seniors-to-be.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is the 73rd-ranked wideout nationally. He picked OSU over Auburn, Wisconsin, West Virginia and LSU.
Carter is the third receiver to commit to the Buckeyes in the 2009 class, joining Chris Fields, the top-ranked player at his position in Ohio, and James Jackson, the No. 1 receiver in Michigan.
"He has tremendous potential," said Bill Kurelic, recruiting analyst for Bucknuts.com, about Carter. "I think he's just scratching the surface. He's getting better and better.
"He's got the body to fill out. ... I think he's going to be in the 6-3, 200-pound range in a couple years."

I think it's ridiculos to say "he is ranked as the 73rd WR in the country".... Rankings are obviously BS. But still... what are you going to say. "He had a good camp, we see him moving up to that 70 spot, maybe 68". After a top 10 or 20... the rest of the rankings are crap.

I suspect Pryor wont be wearing that #2 this year now huh?

I remember him saying that if Duron wanted to wear #2 he'd let him have it assuming he committed.

Welcome home Duron!

Duron doesn't arrive until '09 so no, not necessarily.

BTW, scout must be asleep at the wheel. They still haven't listed Duron as a commit.

I hope I don't start to sound like a broken record and irritate everyone but Carter is soooo underrated. I think he will be another 3* turned 1st round draft pick under Tressel and he is my sleeper recruit of the class.

Anywho, here is a premium article from Bucknuts(free if you just register for the month of June) and it has quotes from quite a few Buckeye verbals on their camp experience.

Bucknuts.com - OSU Verbals Discuss Camp Experience

Everyone noticed Carter and Clarke was particularly impressed with him during one-on-one's.
