COLUMBUS, Ohio – When Eric Glover-Williams of Canton McKinley finished his work at Ohio State's Friday Night Lights camp late last month, he reiterated what he said the coaches had told him his role could be for Ohio State.
“They were just telling me how they want me to be the face of the program for my class for 2015,”
Glover-Williams said on July 26.
It must be time to get that started.
Glover-Williams gave his pledge to the Buckeyes on Sunday night, becoming the first oral commitment in the Class of 2015. He still has his junior and senior high school years and football seasons ahead of him, but Ohio State obviously likes what it has seen.
Glover-Williams' family liked what it saw. Glover-Williams' father, Jerry, told Cleveland.com that several members of the family graduated from Ohio State and Jerry knows Canton McKinley grads and former Buckeyes like Mike Doss and Tyler Everett.
“Everything felt right when we went down there,” said Williams, who was with his son at Friday Night Lights. “He talked to the coaches and saw the education there and everything seemed to fit. He got the full picture of Ohio State, not just from the coaches but from former players and current players.”
