WR/DB Eric Glover-Williams (transfer to Mississippi Gulf Coast CC, transfer to Slippery Rock)

These moves rarely ever work out. I'd be surprised if they take him away from practicing the position he's been at since he's been here, to start over at HB or WR.
Instead of going up against an incredibly talented and long bunch of DBs (Okudah, Wade, Arnette, Fuller, etc), he'll now battle McCall, Lindsey and Hill (who isn't gigantic) for PT at a position where speed merchants can excel.

This gives OSU multiple Shane Wynn types for Wilson to deploy with maniacal laughter.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. Baldwin, Boren, Fragel, and Gamble, among several others, switched as upperclassmen.
Gamble wasn't an upperclassmen when his primary position became CB and Fragel moved one spot down...the bigger point here might be that most of these guys were starters already.

I'm not discounting the optimism completly...just pointing out that for every Hooker, there's 50 guys everyone gets hyped about without any real field evidence and never pans out.

That's literally CFB recruiting, and development. You can say that about every single player...
And Hooker was never hyped like this coming into the season, actually a number of fans/posters were clamoring for Smith to start. EGW came to OSU as an offensive weapon(watch his HS film and tell me it doesn't give you chills) and was encouraged to change positions. He did, and still made a name for himself on special teams, but was thought of enough by the coaching staff do mimic arguably the best QB in CFB(with his legs albeit) showing how highly they thought of him with the ball in his hands. Sometimes it takes guys multiple years to catch on and find their niche on a team(Samuel, Hooker, Conley, Baugh all come to mind)

During Fiesta Bowl interviews, linebacker Chris Worley raved about Glover Williams’ speed and shiftiness. When he was done, he added that defenders lobbied each week for wide receivers coach Zach Smith to give their teammate a shot.

“Before the games we sit with Coach Smith,” Worley said. “Me, Marshon (Lattimore) and Malik tell him, ‘Y’all need to put him on offense or punt return.’ He’s the real deal with the ball in his hands. At Ohio State, there’s a lot of guys behind the scenes that a lot of people don’t know that help this team in so many ways. Eric Glover-Williams has helped this team in a tremendous amount of ways.”

It's high praise when your teammates rave about your skills. Getting happier by the hour about what he can bring to offense and the return game
