WR David Boston (First Team All-American, NFL All Pro)

It's no longer confusing!!!

By the way, back to Boston. Does anyone know what his highest playing weight was? I heard 260! That's insane. If this is the case, does anyone have a picture of him at that weight? I'm having trouble picturing a 260 lb wideout.

David Boston made one of the most memorable catches in Ohio State history (prior to the 2002 season). I saw it live and will remember it as long as I live. He's had some problems with his NFL career the last few years; however he was a great OSU player and hasn't discredited the university (like you know who). I hope he gets his act together and can continue his NFL career.

After an incredible 23-year drought that stretched back to Archie Griffin’s sophomore year, Ohio State finally won the Rose Bowl in dramatic fashion. In one of the most exciting Rose Bowl contests ever played, game MVP quarterback Joe Germaine engineered a 65-yard drive in less than 90 seconds and tossed the game-winning, 5-yard TD pass to David Boston with just 19 seconds showing.

Germaine completed 9-of-17 passes for 131 yards and two scores in a thrilling, see-saw contest. His 72-yard, third-quarter TD strike to Dimitrious Stanley put OSU on top 14-10. But Arizona State quarterback Jake Plummer gave the Sun Devils the lead on an 11-yard scramble with just 1:40 remaining. That set up the final, frantic heroics.

Sophomore safety Damon Moore had 12 tackles and freshman linebacker Andy Katzenmoyer recorded five tackles for loss and intercepted a pass to spearhead the stout OSU defense.

The decision cost undefeated Arizona State a national championship. The 11-1 Buckeyes finished No. 2 behind 11-1 Florida in the national polls. ASU wound up No. 4.

The Game in '98 with Boston reeling in 10 catches - 200+ yards and 2 TDs sticks in my mind.

Kind of an archive kept by then OSU reserve long snapper Kevin Loadman, lots of really good stuff on it - check out the "award page" it'll show you the "Big Load's" sense of humor.:)

As for Boston's future the "Rumor Mill" at cbs sportsline has the following:
The Dolphins told David Boston's agent that they are open to his return once he becomes healthy, according to the Miami Herald. ... A source told the Palm Beach Post that the Dolphins are closing in a deal that would ship Patrick Surtain to either Minnesota, Seattle or Kansas City. (updated: 03/11/2005)
Yertle asks about pics of Dave's "max playing weight" This picture from phinfever is pretty close to the maximum I'd say

Support your Bucks

ZachDumas said:
Would you applaud the misfortune of your father, or mother, or son, or daughter?

TRUE Ohio State fans support our own like they are part of our family.

I am glad I am NOT a part of yours.

Peace.
Zach, I don't disagree with you on supporting your own, but Clarett is a former Buckeye, if even for just one tainted yet incredible season. Does that mean you support him and his efforts to reach the NFL?

Latest Boston Rumor

Latest rumor: WR David Boston has drawn interest from the 49ers and could sign a minimum-salary contract once his surgically repaired knee is healthy. -- Miami Herald

2003 contract with San diego: Boston signed a 7-year, 47 million dollar contract, with a 7.5 million dollar signing bonus spread out over two years. He also has 4 million dollars of his contract guaranteed in the year 2004. The Chargers have good behavior protection clauses built into the contract (Boston is a two time offender of the NFL’s substance abuse program), if Boston is suspended by the NFL he will have to return or forego portion(s) of his signing bonus.

Needless to say David Boston has paid dearly for his problems. Going from over $7M per year to the NFL minumum is a big drop in pay; not to mention all the other personal, medical, and legal problems. Hopefully his knee gets healthy and he returns to the NFL real soon.

i actually feel bad for him to be honest. im almost wondering if his body is literally too big at his speed to handle the cuts and shots to the legs. i mean god damn somebody that damn big running as fast as he does is pretty damn remarkable.
