Gonzo's tent use was well-documented last season.

It's currently being looked at by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) to see if there are any harmful aspects to its use. It would make sense for the NCAA to wait for any conclusions from the WADA tests before making a decision.

Thank you for the information. I felt my comment was a little off topic and so I deleted it in my post. It was speculation and not fact based on my part, but an interesting topic though. I wasn't suggesting that anyone should use a tent but the topic seems to be open yet and subject to an official ruling and anything could happen. Let's see how these guys do with their natural ability first. Oh BTW, don't they cost about $5000 for a "Gonzo" signature version?

Toledo's Sanzenbacher and Toledo Central Catholic Advances to State

It was a great day for Northwest Ohio with both the boys and the girls dominating the Regional Track and Field Meet held Friday at Amherst Steele HS. Dane and his team mates was fourth overall with wins and places in many events. TCC was took first in the 800 relay (1:28:66) beating Lakewood St Ed's by half a second, third in the 400 relay (42.97) and second in the 1600 relay (3:19:19), and Dane ran a 48.35 in the 400 for a second place qualifiying for the State Meet next week. Sam Hogue who was on the winning 800 relay team for TCC also won the 300 m hurdles.

Boys from St Johns, Bowsher, Central, Maumee, Whitmer, Rogers, Sylvania Southview, Anthony Wayne, and Clay HS's placed well in the events. Bowsher's Meshawn Graham won the 100, 200, and 400 in the girls events . Sharise Calhoun from TCC won the 100 m and 300 hurdles. TCC girls won the 1600 relay.

I must say I am proud to be from Toledo and NW Ohio. Good Job!

Calhoun heads to state with plenty of momentum. She won the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.61 before finishing first in the 300 hurdles with a time of 44.14. She also ran with Kaitlyn Krizman, Kaila Blanchard and Ariel Wilkes to claim an easy victory in the 1600 relay (3:54.21). Bowsher (3:56.14) and AW (4:00.47) placed second and third, respectively.

"I'm amazed at myself," said Calhoun of her day that also included running on the Irish's 400 relay team (48.58) that qualified for state with a second-place finish. "I give the credit to my training and my coaches. "

Central Catholic's Cedric Bouyer, Vyshawn Arnold, Samuel Hogue III and Dane Sanzenbacher teamed to win the 800 relay (1:28.66). Hogue qualified for state for the first time as an individual by winning the 300 hurdles with a personal-record time of 37.33.

"I did pretty good today, but I have to keep working hard on running to the first hurdles," Hogue said.

Thanks for the update. I will definatey be making the trip. This gets me out of going to a Couples Wedding Shower.

Ouch, I missed the regionals because of my daughters dance recital. I couldn't miss that and won't make the States either due to Uh ??? - we're going to California on Vacation that weekend. You'll have to post the results for me from the Dispatch and I'll check it from LA next week. I did see Dane run in the Districts and sat with his dad who talked my ear off about him. Needless to say he's a proud papa. Let's hope he does well in his events this year. I think they (TCC) qualified for all the relays and the Dane will run the 400. I understand that Cincy will be giving him some competition. What is Posey running in? Who's the 400 guy from Moeller or Lasalle and what his time?

Dane qualified for the 400 finals at State. He's also running on the 4x400 relay that qualified. This was the only relay team that qualified for the finals out of the three Central ran. The only other Central runner in the finals is Hogue in the 300 hurdles. Posey (LaSalle) qualified in the 200, and just missed in the 400.

Good to see he's remaining consistent. You would have to say that Dane's conditioning never stopped and that he will be well prepared for summer football camp. Posey did well too and he'll be back next year before joining tOSU. It might have been interesting to see Sanzenbacher and Posey running in the same heat. Unfortunately, Dane doesn't compete in the 200 although he ran a 22.15 earlier this year. What times qualified for the 200? Are you attending the finals?

Thanks for the updates, Cinci

toledoblade.com -- Bowsher's Graham wins 100, 200, 400 heats

I found this from the Toledo Blade. The internet comes through once more.

Central's Dane Sanzenbacher raced to a time of 48.30 in a 400 preliminary to earn a spot in today's finals. Clay's Nick Tammerine finished fifth in his race in 49.96.

Sanzenbacher, Hogue, Cedric Bouyer and Michael Krieg will compete in the 1600 relay final after placing fourth in their heat in 3:20.

Other's from Toledo did well too.

I spent some time with Coach P while at States and had a chance to meet Dane for the first time. Here's a couple pics from today.
