WR Brian Robiskie (Official Thread)

Just from looking back on Rivals, it seems we have been in contact the whole time...

Ummm... that and the article that kick started this discussion again said so :wink2:

Robiskie, rated the nation’s No. 58 wide receiver and the No. 20 player in Ohio by Rivals.com, was also on the Buckeyes’ radar screen earlier this year. Defensive backs coach Mel Tucker stayed in regular contact with Robiskie during Chagrin Falls’ season, but Iammarino said that he himself had not heard much from the Buckeyes recently.
Just yanking you chain a bit.

nice one, Baron Von Douchebag...you got my point.

I selectively ignored that article.

Not to hijack this thread, but does this point to Albert Dukes not returning to tOSU or just that we have open schollies this year and want to fill them with a guy who has has little fanfare from this neck of the woods?

I think it has more to do with osu not getting any of sledge, thomas or mccarthy. osu wanted another cb in this class, or another WR so that Amos could be moved to cb.

I wonder why OSU hadn't shown stronger interest earlier. I think you can do alot worse than a WR whose dad coaches WRs in the NFL. You'd have to think that this kid is a smart player, and probably more polished than the average HS wideout. I hope the Bucks get him.

BSB has an update on the front page. Brian's coach was interviewed and said that Coach Tucker has said that he liked Brian all along but that they had two WRs on board and that they were waiting to see how things shook out this recruiting season. Tucker told Brian that a late offer did not mean that they were not really that interested. Brian's coach thinks that Tucker was really pushing for OSU to offer him. Tressel thinks Brian can be a Jenkins-type receiver. Academics are important to Brian given his grades and his advanced placement classes. His coach thinks it could be a coin flip between OSU and UM. TG2 will most likely be his host at OSU. Tressel met with Brian's mom the other day which helped things a lot as well.

I'll take it. We could definitely use the extra depth at WR. If the Canes' offered him early, that's all the endorsement I need for his skills. Given the fact that he hasn't already jumped on the Canes offer, given his previous non-Buckeye options, I really like our chances. Of course, I thought the same thing about McCarthy.

The difference is McCarthy wanted to hear from Notre Dame the same way Brian wanted to hear from OSU. In the end McCarthy went were his heart wanted to go all along. In similar fashion it sounds like Brian has wanted to go to OSU all along.
