WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion)

I would be shocked if Pryor does not start that game.

+1

Braxton Miller is the fan favorite during the first five games in the absence of Pryor. I'd still like to see Miller on the field after that, but Pryor is the starter 100% as soon as he is eligible.

Well, that's just me being a bonehead. I forgot Pryor and Co. will be back for that game. Should make it all the more interesting.

I'll be at that game, making it as loud as possible.

Why did you photoshop Osbourne's hat in your avatar? There's no way anyone makes ten-gallon ball caps.

Assuming he continues to progress, I see Braxton and the heir apparent and probable starter for the first five games. Bauserman will continue to be the backup, but will share time with Miller. Should something happen to TP this season, Miller will take over the starting role. He is much further advanced that TP at this time in his career and has a bigger upside.
Graham will take over as the backup next year because of his maturity.
It would not shock me to see either Guiton or Graham transfer if and when Braxton solidifies himself as the next starter.
Graham or Bauserman could be a starter if the team were designed differently, but the latest versions of our O-Line are designed to support a mobile quarterback, not a pocket passer.
Guiton has a chance, but only if Braxton doesn't pan out the way I think he will.

If you want to thrive in this offense, even Pryor had to learn how to be a 'pocket passer'. Mobility is a gift - use it when you have too. But your arm will be your bread & butter. Braxton is and will be no different. He's already got a pretty good feel on when to tuck and run.

just to solidify what TP has done in the passing game (and overall)...

Troy Smiths Heisman winning stats in 2006 (Troy was/is a better "pocket passer" than TP)

2500 yds passing, 65% completion, 30 TDs
228 yds rushing, 1 TD
5th year senior

Terrelle's 2010 Stats
2800 yds passing, 65% completions, 27 Tds
754 yds rushing, 4 Tds
1 receiving Td
3rd year Junior

Troy became a pocket passer as Pryor is becoming, but it's because of their ability to make defenses look silly when they do rush that allowed them to become pocket passers. A true pocket passer without that mobility could never survive in this offense right now as the starter. The last true pocket passer we fielded was replaced early in the season by a very unpolished Pryor because mobility is more important that passing ability. Todd was a good pocket passer, but he could not move around enough to stay out of harm's way. What we need, had in Smith and Pryor, and have coming in Miller is a quarterback who can move around in and out of the pocket while keeping his eyes down field and making plays.
Pryor is at his best when he is out of the pocket but still scanning down field. This is also the trait that Miller has shown.. the ability to elude rushers and make plays down field with his arm. But it's because of the ability to run that he will be able to be a great passer.

Nightclub promises party for Wayne's Miller, Moore; will have to do without
By Doug Harris, Staff Writer

A Huber Heights nightclub may still go through with its plans to throw an ?official graduation party? for former Wayne High School football players Braxton Miller and Tre Moore, but the organizers of the event will have to make do without the guests of honor.

An advertisement for the May 26 bash at the Heat nightclub appeared on the Facebook page of Moore, promising the appearance of the two stars and several musical guests. The price of admission was set at $10 for guys and $7 for women.

But both players graduated last winter and have begun their college careers ? Miller at Ohio State and Moore at Northern Illinois ? and would be in violation of NCAA rules if they knowingly allowed a business to use their names for profit.

Even though they said they had no part in the planning of the event, they moved quickly to disassociate themselves from it after being questioned about their involvement by Wayne coach Jay Minton.

?I was coming home from Illinois after spring ball at Northern Illinois, and coach Minton gave me a call when I was in the airport trying to get to Ohio,? Moore said. ?And then Braxton gave me a call and said, ?We have to find out who did this and get it taken care of.?

?I?m guessing they found some people who knew me and Braxton, probably some Wayne kids. I don?t how they picked me and him, but I?m glad we can clean this mess up.?
