Brandon Inniss was the No. 1 receiver in the country until
Carnell Tate had such an impressive offseason especially at the Pylon Los Angeles that we swapped the two. There was a feeling we could do no wrong there since both are such phenomenal receivers.

But I’m not sure anymore.

Inniss is such a catch machine who doesn’t look like he’s super fast but creates incredible separation from defensive backs and he just produces and produces and produces. So far this season, the Ohio State commit has nearly 500 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Tate doesn’t have bad stats, either, and he’s committed to the Buckeyes, too, so they’ll be putting up big numbers in Columbus together but right now if I had to choose the No. 1 receiver in the country, Inniss might go back to the top.

15 ready-to-play recruits in the 2023 class

Brandon Inniss
The consensus among the 247Sports national recruiting team and scouting department is that five-star Brandon Inniss is likely the most ready-to-play receiver in this class. A supreme alpha personality on the field, Inniss has repeatedly dominated competition in live evaluations during the football season and elite 7-on-7 action. Inniss, No. 31 overall in the Top247, plays larger than his 6-foot, 190 pound listing and sometimes physically overwhelms opposing defenders. He's played countless snaps at receiver, but has also gotten reps as a quarterback. He finished his senior season at Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage with 73 catches for 1,336 yards and 15 touchdowns on 18.3 yards per reception. Inniss also returned a kickoff for a TD and could see immediate opportunities in the return game at the next level.
