As much as Brian Hartline was used int eh slot behind Gonzo this year, I really think Saine could become a threst from the positon and be used much liek Percy Harvin was for the Gators.
No!
Florida had an improvised running game.
That's not our need!
We need people to stretch the field!

Looks like my sources were spot on.

Might as well continue this downward spiral we are currently in.

What "downward spiral"? Sheesh, we don't win the national title and now we're spiraling out of control...hope your ankle isn't sore from the jump off the bandwagon. :roll1:

I think we're in a bit of a decline this week cuz A) Lost NC, B) Buckeyes lost to the badgers in basketball, C) we lost out on a lot of big time recruits and D) we're losing some of our Juniors... With that being said We'll be fine at WR and we'll be back next year!! GOOD LUCK GONZO!! been fun watchin you play this year!

This is the spiral I am referring to. Nice attempt at calling me a bandwagon fan, considering I've been living in Columbus for 22 years and attend The Ohio State University, that couldn't be any further from the truth. :roll1:

It's temporary, yes, but it's there. I have plenty of faith that we will be great for years to come, it's just been rough lately.

I wish Gonzo all the best, he is a class act.

All I can say for next year is we got Robiske, Small, Hartline, Dukes(remember him?)... The big question is who will get them ball.

As for those saying Brandon Saine going to WR never seen this kid run the ball. If Pittman leaves and Mo Wells transfers, were gonna need him there anyways. This kid is for real, track speed and hardly ever went down on the first hit.

You always want to keep your selfish hopes up, but I was convinced a long time ago that he was gone after Milwood came forward alleging sources. Love him or hate him, Mili would never post "bullshit" on this site.

It's hard to even start with where to begin thanking Gonzo. The TD against scuM in 04' was just the tip of the iceberg. Easily one of the most, if not the most clutch WR we've ever had here. He just made first down after first down, a true tale of his awareness on the field. He made it hard to tell how fast he really was, simply because he made it look so easy. I love how he once described himself as a short, fat, bald guy. He was fair enough to leave "slow" out of his personal assesssment.

But, as much as he brough to the field, I think he brings even more off of it. There may be riches in the NFL, nothing wrong with making a fast buck. He'd have been a fool to not grab this opportunity. Thing is, I think at the end of Anthony's life there will be alot more read then just his accomplishments on the football field. I see this kid taking his smarts to an extreme level. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him in DC someday.

Anyway, sorry for being long winded with a well wish, but this is just a very unique case. He was the "perfect" student-athlete, the likes of which we may never see for a long time. Thanks, and best of luck in all you ever do Anthony.

We happen to lose a football game to the then-#2 team and a close basketball game at a higher-ranked opponent, and we're "spiraling". Right. Oh yeah, by the way, we aren't to get all the recruits we want, and unless they publicly commit to us and then bolt elsewhere, we don't "lose" them. And with the quality of players we havem we'll always have a few leave early. Now, did this past week bring a lot of good news for us? No. But, we're hardly in a "spiral" as you put it.

I didn't want to raise a fuss as to who my source was, but since the announcement has been made, I'll let you know that it was his older brother Joe (who played safety at Indiana) who, while never saying so outright, a few nights before The Game made it pretty clear that Anthony was intending to leave early (a few drinks and a festive atmosphere makes some folks open up).

Ohio State's Gonzalez to enter NFL draft

Ted Ginn Jr. still undecided.

By Rusty Miller
Associated Press

Thursday, January 11, 2007
COLUMBUS ? Speedy wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez, the second-leading receiver for Ohio State, said Thursday he will not return for his senior season and will enter the NFL draft.
"Obviously, it's the toughest thing I've ever had to do in my life," the 6-foot, 195-pounder said at an emotional news conference in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
