Myself and some friends will be on Herod. But dear Christ, I'm hoping Blizzard opens at least one more EST PvP realm.

Got three Alliance toons reserved on Herod (gnome lock, ne hunter, and human priest).

Can’t wait. Don’t think I’ve been this excited anticipating a game launch since Fallout 3.

My 12 and 10 year old daughters were wide eyed at dinner tonight while my wife and I told them stories about how hard the game originally was before it all got nerfed.

Can’t believe I miss getting ganked by Hogger or having to rage logout because an opposing guild is sitting on my corpse and the graveyard in Stranglethorn Vale. Was watching some YouTube vids tonight and was reminded that Feign Death -> Shadowmeld -> Eat food was the most used rotation on my first main.

Oh yeah. Pops should drop after a month or two though. I'll go to another server if the queues are ridiculous. Was prioritizing reserving my most used names on the highest pop PvP server, since my step-son has a habit of vulching my character names.

Checked out the Herod Discord server. 6,754 members with 13,390 registered toons.

Blizzard has announced a new Vanilla WoW Hardcore public test realm on the way. One life. If you die, you’re done. PvP shenanigans will be replaced with a new 1v1 “duel to the death” challenge feature.

So what do you do in Hardmode? I mean, yeah, you do the quests - especially the easy-ish ones. And you group up to make it easier. Because dying would now mean so much more. But you can't do dungeons, can you? I mean, sure, you could. But you wouldn't, would you? I think we all know someone who... maybe he's not a Leroy Jenkins, but he does dumb stuff a lot. He tab-targets and range-hits a monster in the next pack, or a pat comes up behind you and one guy didn't get out of the way. That's the end. All done.

The concept sounds fun, but it also sounds terrible.

I'm sure I'll try it.
