Mac

That's a pain in the buns
Anyone have any workouts they regularly do or anything like that?

Me and my brother in law are doing this for the beach in 16 weeks...

I also throw in a few extra things at the end. I've already lost 15 pounds the past month and a half. Granted it hasn't all been because of the workout, eating healthy and also being sick I lost some as well.

Anyone else have a workout they do regularly?

Lift weights every other day. Run 2-4 miles on days in between. 60 sit-ups and 40 push-ups every night and morning. It's something I have done since High school.

this would have to result in an impressive physique I'm sure...

I was taught the old traditional way... 2-3 muscle groups per day... along with cardio... no muscle groups two days in a row... muscle groups are back, chest, bi's, tri's, shoulders, legs...

Taught you could do abs every day... but I'm old.. and it gets tough to be so diligent... Up until a couple years ago, I used to lift really heavy... those days are done... now I fight with the 75 yr old ladies for the pink weights... pinched nerves in the neck will do that to you

Guys like Mili will live to 100... they are cardio junkies.. that triathlon stuff... I can't drive a car as far as they go in some of that stuff...

I could see the video routine working for a very condensed period of time.. but not as a long term solution... it works out all the muscle groups but bi's and tri's... and your muscles need 48 hours to repair...

Plus you don't get abs like this unless (1) you are young (2) genetically predisposed and/or (3) you starve yourself...

And lastly, an old fitness guru said "it ain't nearly as important what you do in this gym.. it's what you do when you ain't in this gym"

You want to get shredded and toned add swimming. I can't speak for that work out...but it won't add too much muscle mass. You can do high rep full circut with light weights, lose pounds and tone a little...which is what that work out is.

My workout schedule now is

Monday- Legs/30 Mins of Cardio
Tuesday- Chest/50 Mins of Cardio
Wedensday- Swimming for 45 mins (approx 35 laps) Freestyle and Breast
Thursday- Back/50 Mins of Cardio
Friday- Shoulders/Bis and Tris/50 mins of Cardio
Saturday- Swimming for 45 mins
Sunday- OFF

I've always had pretty good size, but by adding the swimming, I've got way more cut muscle defenition.

BuckeyeMac...

Question, are you doing 10 sets of 30 reps for each exercise shown? In one workout? Or do you do each exercise shown 30 reps for a total of 300 reps per workout?

30 reps for each 10 exercises for a total of 300

Hey that NJ guy is pretty smart. Lots of factors here, age, joint damage and pain being some big ones.

I drag my old ass out of bed at 5 AM and start off with 30 minutes on the stairmaster. I hope there will be one of the cuties that work out everyday next to me so I can chat. Then I hit the weights and what I have found is it is better to mix it up. I try to change my routine once every two months. I have been doing a total body, single exercise that is a combination of a clean and jerk, squat and push press. I still use the old reliables, benchpress and curls. Lots of strecthing before and after.

I eat what I want and have been drinking a glass of red wine each night and as much beer as I want on the weekends. I take a bunch of vitamins each AM also. We all end up in the same place. I just hope to make my time here as pleasant as possible.
