If you (or anyone else) is interested in learning to swim, I can't recommend Total Immersion highly enough. I took lessons when I was little, so I wasn't completely starting from scratch, but I hadn't done any "real" swimming since. I used their book and DVD to re-teach myself to swim last year, and have been able to get to a point where I'm halfway decent at it. They use drills to build your technique from the ground up, rather than starting with awkward swimming and trying to make it better.

(I'm not affiliated with them or anything, just think they have a nice and effective system)
