I think NCAA women's bball is growing because there is little to get behind with NCAA men's ball. I guess we'll see what the ratings look like next year without CC. The best men's players are only around for a year and with the portal, most players you hear of are only around for a year or two rather than 4 years like the top female players. I'm sure people who follow the sport knew who CC was in her first year or two, but it took until her third year to become a national name for people that loosely follow women's bball.

Some of us have daughters that played bball. From that, followed the magic of Jacy and the cast. CC was a talent in college hoops for certain sure, breaking all the scoring records known to men or women. We're following her in the WNBA because of her skillset, and wonderment at how many folk are now in the stands for the Fever, and at other teams when they visit. Very cool to see. Now we watch to see how many bad fouls CC can collect from other teams. Guard her close, certainly. Deny her from the ball, always. Keep her from getting her shot, absolutely. Doing some of the s*** we watch on TV, never. The tail-over-teacup she got from Brianna Steward was a classic pick - and very legal. Coach of Fever needs to spend some time, teaching the players to call out picks (for everyone), and defending (anyone) who is the recipient of a non-basketball play. IMHO.

meh. The analogy should be Jordan vs. the Pistons. She should quit whining (and flopping) and use it to get better.
Meh. The WNBA needs to not countenance Piston style play. Period. She is literally doubling attendance, stylistically the WNBA needs... Not the Pistons. So, they have a choice, they can try to make this more attractive basketball or, they can let it turn into petty squabbles adjudicated on the court by the Chennedy Carters of the world (whose been on 3 teams in 4 years for, you know, reasons), or they can understand the obvious here that women's basketball is not men's basketball and the people want to see an offensive style. Now, the rest of the players can go along or not, but if they want to fly coach and make $15 an hour forever and have to play in Russia in the winter and get thrown in gulags, go for it.

I don't watch the NBA so my not watching the WNBA doesn't indicate anything. What little I do see of the WNBA on highlights I like. I like that they don't allow players to take four steps before shooting or to palm/carry the ball.

I have enjoyed watching women's college VB and basketball. I also liked the fact that the vast majority of female college athletes get their degree.

She's dealing with a lot of envy right now and even her "good girl" image has made her a target of hate. Sad to see.
Her last year in college kind of ruined her "good girl" image when the confidence moved way into cockiness. She deserved every accolade though so maybe that had to happen also. The league is going to have to clean some shit up though before it gets too far out of hand.

It's easy to get caught up in the cockiness in basketball culture, show boating and trash talk is part of the game now unfortunately.

True. But the fan incident and flopping from contact with Cotie, makes her susceptible to criticism. Jordan knew he was gonna get fouled and still went into the paint.
I don't know about the fan incident and never heard of that one flop. To cut to the chase and not pull punches it seems the jealousy has to do with her being a white heterosexual without tattoos. From Iowa no less. Not ghetto enough.

Or maybe it's not jealousy, but the fact that she's an asshole on the court? Nobody seems to have any issues with Cameron Brink, the #2 pick in this draft, who is also straight, white, and non-tattooed?

Maybe you should watch Clark for a couple years and see how she behaves before coming to any conclusions.
