Fickell going back to the smash mouth football that got him the job in the first place.
Wisconsin has responded, claiming that Lucas entered a "binding" 2-year NIL agreement with UW & that Miami tampered and contacted Lucas impermissibly. They claim this is why they refused to allow him into the portal, that Lucas is expected to fulfill the 2-year agreement. I don't quite understand why they're not letting him into the portal. I would think the schools are paying NIL based on how long the players are enrolled there, so even if the agreement is for 2 years and he stays for only 1, they should be able to just pay that NIL $ to someone else now. If they are paying 2 years worth of NIL for a kid only being enrolled 1 year, that would not make sense to me. Wisconsin has also dragged the B1G conference into this to defend their agreement. That ain't a good look.
Yeah I'm not sure this was worth basically causing the NCAA to say hey dude can transfer without the transfer portalWisconsin has responded, claiming that Lucas entered a "binding" 2-year NIL agreement with UW & that Miami tampered and contacted Lucas impermissibly.
