Wisconsin 78, #12 Ohio State 73 (Final)

Let's not forget, North Dakota State pulled out a win there.

Do your homework and tell me how many times they have lost there in the past few years.

Cant make shots down the stretch on the road, the foul situation hurt badly, yes.........but not being able to score is what killed them. That, and Wiscy hit everything under the sun.

Live and die by the 'D' is more like it. Not making threes was not what killed us, Dials lit it up and made up for the lack of threes. Not being allowed to get within 2 feet of the guy with the ball without being called for a foul completely screwed us.

That was not what hurt... Sure Wisconsin shot 31 FT's to our 19. But they only made 3 more (20 vs. 17). That isn't the difference... The 13 missed 3's are what hurt.

Yes I am a little pissed...Sorry....I had to vent...I know that it is tough to win there. While Dials did play a good game, he did not make up for missing the three....I will admit though, Wisky did guard the three very well....Tucker is a baller....And once again, the refs didn't help...Oh yeah, is anyone scared to death when Sylvester has the ball...You just don't know what the hell he is going to do with it...Kind of like Fuss-C. in that manner...Did anyone see the three Sly through up at towards the end of the game totally off balance....Anywho.....Not a good night....

Tough loss, but in the grand scheme of things, if you told me three months ago we would be 18-4, 7-4, I'd be thrilled. Need a big win Saturday to get ready for a tough trip to E Lansing next week.

We're 18-4 with 1 tough road game to go (Northwestern can be a trap of course, but I am confident we can beat em). Who in their right mind though that this team would be 18-4 right now? Most of us were already skipping this season and talkin about Oden and the boys next year. I am insanely happy with this team. Overachievers, great hustling on D. You cant hit 70% from 3 point range every game, just doesnt happen.

Ugh. Tough loss. I hate losing to them. Grrrrr.

Bright side time:
Still only 4 losses in conference. If we win out we will, IMO, still tie for the conference championship. I don't see Iowa winning at Illinois.

Even if we lose at MSU, we will still, (again, IMO) tie for 2nd. Wisconsin won't win at MSU. If MSU wins out, and Wisconsin wins out (excepting
MSU) all of us will have 5 conference losses behind Iowa with 4. Who knows? Iowa could lose at Minnesota and we could end up with a 5-way tie with Illinois in there, too.

There is still a helluva lot of b-ball to be played fellas. No worries. :)

And a little reminder. Most of us weren't expecting to be 17-4 at this point.

EDIT - Hellfire. We weren't expecting to be 18-4, either. .

you're overlooking the key detail. Sullinger sat for a long time in the second half, allowing tucker to roam freely (we have no one else to body him up). Butler sat with 3 as well during that stretch. Those two are invaluable in a game like this.

Shot 31 compared to 19. Whether they made them or not, our guys only have so many fouls to give before they're forced to sit down. If you're getting called that much, then it affects the way you play defense, hence the 50 points given up in the second half. Fouls have a much bigger impact on the game than the actual points made off of free throws do. Not being able to play our style of defense leads to alot of points for the other team. Them being able to play as physical as they please leads to sub 50% shooting for our team.

Tough game tonight fellas...

Let's not forget that Wiscy is a great team at home. We haven't beaten them in the Kohl Center in at least six years.

We live and die by the three ball and we didn't have one in the second half till it's too late.

Tucker is a handfull...no wonder he's leading the Big Ten in scoring.

Nixon...what a second half. He demoralized our defense with some supurb shooting.

Just remember guys, did you think we'd be 18-4 this season at this point? My guess is no. The Big Ten tourney is a matter of weeks away and we really want at least that 3 seed so we rest and play a less than rested team.
