Game Thread Wisconsin 13, tOSU 31 (Oct 10, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN)

This weekend should be a great benchmark of where this Ohio State team is at, a young group still trying to find out who they are. Should be fun to watch them come of age against a solid Wisconsin team. I'm worried about John Clay getting loose, the guy can flat out play. TE Garrett Graham a great asset for a team with a new QB, the Buckeye LB's will be tested. Will the Badgers be able to hold Ohio State's passing game in check? Can the Buckeyes' O-line handle O'Brien Schofield off the edge?

Strengths:
QBs = Wisconsin (game mgmt/passing), OSU (running)
RBs = Wisconsin
TE = Wisconsin
WR = Ohio State
OL = Wisconsin

DL = Ohio State
LB = Ohio State
DB= Ohio State

I dissected the film and the numbers, here's my take on the upcoming match-up!
Preview: #25 Wisconsin vs. #9 Ohio State

I will be making my 3rd trip ever to the 'Shoe for this one, and bringing my wife along for her 1st. This game sounds like it has all the makings of a great one and a chance for tOSU to really get a feel for where they stand in the Big 10 against some solid competition. I got tickets from eBay in section 37A (pretty far up, row 30-ish, I think). Anyone familiar with the view? Not right at field level, but not in C deck either.

My big question is this: Am I really not allowed to bring my Canon Rebel dSLR camera to the game? I read on StubHub that Ohio Stadium has a policy of allowing fixed lens cameras, but not cameras with interchangeable lenses (which they consider "professional"). I'd REALLY like to bring it in to get some shots with my telephoto lens, but I don't want to try it and then have to trek back to the car if the ticket-taker tells me it's not allowed. Can anyone speak to the stringency of the enforcement of this rule? I'll need to decide soon, as we're leaving around 5pm to drive the 3 hours from my hometown to a hotel in the Polaris area. Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Go Bucks!!!!

They are pretty strict about those camera rules...I wouldn't bring one with an interchangeable lens. Sorry :(

Having the starting OL intact will be huge...

Absolutely....not to mention Mewhort, Linsley and Longo will remain on the list to be redshirted....almost as important for the long term. The line looks good with Adams-Boren-Brewster-Browning-Shugarts, and Cordle & Miller may return next week.

Thanks for the info. That's too bad. I guess I don't see the reasoning behind it. It's not like anyone would buy my pictures (not that I'd even try to sell them) instead of the ones taken by the photographers who are on the sidelines who are using FAR better equipment than I am. But, I'll just take a compact digital and try to not be too depressed about missing out on in-game action shots. :(

Wow I'm not upset about they think Wisconson can win but USC able to move the ball on the ground before giving up? Which game was he watching they ran 40 times for 118 yard. That's not really being able to move the ball on the ground and is definitely not giving up on it.
I basically agree with you, but the 40 rushes for 118 yards is slightly misleading, as it includes: the punt/safety for -10 yards, the end-of-game kneel-down for -3 yards, and 4 fourth down QB dives for ~4 yards. In terms of real rushing, USC had 34 rushes for ~131 yards. Still solid rushing defense against a premiere rushing offense, but not to the extent suggested by the overall stats that include those not-real-rushes. I have no idea where Fiutak came up with the "USC gave up on the run game" meme.

Yeah, the rule on detachable lenses has been in place in the past, but this year they (Event Management) are really stressing to the Ticket Takers & Security Personnel to try and keep them out of the stadium and for the Ushers (if we see people using them) to first warn them to put the lense away and stop using it, and second to eject anyone who continues to ignore the rule.

It doesn't matter what size the lense is. If it detaches, best not to bring it.

Well, that's two votes against trying to smuggle it in. Thanks for the info, everyone. Maybe it's for the best. I'd probably be worried about the weather hurting it anyway. I was really looking forward to getting a snapshot of Rolle laying the wood to Clay!
