Winter Workouts Reports

They finished off conditioning today with 200 yd sprints. Ben Person won by quite a bit over the other OL. Ryan Williams also surprised by winning the DL/DE sprints.

Dukes hasn't looked that great so far during workouts.

People are also forgetting about Spitler at the LB spot. He appears to be in great shape.

 This is his and Lyons' chance to step up... it's far from over, but that's not great news.

It'd be great to hear any speculation for the maybe-DT spots... Wilson, Worthington, Rose, Denlinger ? Of course, Abdallah and Larimore too.

What exactly do Winter Workouts consist of? Do they do drills or just "exercise" ?

Thanks for the updates Grad!!

I agree with all the others guys getting snaps at DT but Wilson is not one that I see playing any time at DT, he is a big, fast physical specimen that is going to compliment Gholston very very well at the other end spot.

I was just hoping to find out who is taking snaps / working out / doing drills / giving-passing-glances / whatever at DT. Also hoping to hear good news about Larimore and Abdallah's progress.

Think I read somewhere that the staff wants our defensive lineman to be able to play every position on the line.

Tyler ran the fastest 40 time of any of the returning LB's and out benched all of the LB's by getting 225 up 24 times

I was just catching up on this thread. This stat is amazing. I was a 6'3" 270 lb OL in college and repp'ed 225 27 or 28 times.

An athlete that fast who weighs 25% less doing basically the same reps is absolutely incredible!

It is great to hear Tyler is getting acclimated to the DB's!

Hartline, Robiskie, Small and Lyons. Sounds like a solid group of WRs.

I expect Small to make some major noise. Out of the group, he is the one who is most capable of stretching the field. Quickness really reminds me of Holmes.

I really love the potential of that group of receivers next year, they all have their own style but I really love Hartline and his toughness across the middle plus he is a tough guy to bring down. Robiskie is going to be Mr.Consistency out of that group. Small has major potential to become the field stretcher and Lyons is going to get a chance to step up and make some big plays down field too. Wow, the more I look at next years team the more I get excited at the potential all over the field. Its only March how long till the spring game??
