Speaking of parabolas reminds me of this one female I knew at OSU. One night a group of us were drinking at the Out-R-Inn and she told me she loved parabolas. Picking up on this not so subtle comment, I asked if that was because of the way they can model projectile motion and when she said "Oh yea!", well we were out of there. We had some steamy times over the next couple of months. Now she didn't mind our little contract that whenever she was over at my place and I said, " f(x) = x^2" that she had to run to my bedroom and be naked within 2 minutes. This torrid affair ended one time when, in an attempt to be exploratory (kinky if you will), I said, "f(y) = y^2". She said she wasn't that type of girl and was gone forever.
