Why was Auburn ranked in the top 10?

Overrated every single year mainly because they are a part of the "Mighty Southeastern Conference." Does not matter though. They will get trampled by several teams in the SEC and eventually not matter at all like most years.

I think the cause for such unjust praise is a combo platter of their SEC affiliation and guilt for excluding them from the national championship a few years ago after going through their entire schedule unblemished.

Auburn typically sneaks in a Top 10 upset of some sort.
In 2004 it was Georgia. Recently, Florida has been bitten twice by Auburn.

I'm wary of bans being so new to these boards so I'll try to phrase my thoughts in a polite manner.
The Auburn QB's have excellent opportunities for improvement.

Like I said before, check out Gatorubet's posts to get a good gauge on what you can and cannot say here. He even dives into the touchy subject of OSU-UF, OSU-SEC topics and does well, but knows when to pick his battles

Nutriatch (LSU fan here) spent endless time here bashing Tommy T, with reckless pleasure. :p

Just heard Auburn will now be getting the 'College Gameday' experience thanks to ASU's loss to UNLV (I'm sure OregonBuckeye and methomps got a good chuckle from that).

They scored 3 points, yet now they're going to be hyped up to be a great team?

Is that a nice way of saying that the Auburn QBs suck the hair out of a goat's ears?

Yeah - they really do.
How Jason Campbell put together an SEC POTY type season is one of life's never ending riddles.

Of course - it helps when Ronnie Brown and Caddy Williams chew up 175 yards per game.

That is one of the Two Big Truths...

Here is the other:

Funny down talking Auburn. Yet they have beaten Florida and Lsu in recent years. Which is better than some can say. Auburn has a top defense. Their offense will come around. I expect UF to playt Auburn for the SEC title on our way to a National title game.

English?
Yet they have beaten Florida and Lsu in recent years.
And yet they nearly lost twice in a row to Mississippi State.
Their offense will come around.
Oh well then, never mind. Good thing too, because history doesn't really agree.

07: Points vs SEC, by game: 17, 20, 17, 24, 9, 35 (vandy), 20, 14 (mississippi state).

what happened last two times your team played an SEC team? guess we do not have that much room to brag do we? Since we can't bash a certain team here or certain people will cry. (its a message board it happens) SO I am not bashing. If your team would have just scored more of played a bit better on defense it would have been a different story :)

I see you're incapable of actually discussing Auburn, without shifting the subject to subtle flaming.

Glad to see Mr. Self-Righteous is here to set us straight.

You seem to be crying quite a bit that anyone would dare question Auburn for scoring THREE points against a mediocre ballclub. U LaLa scored 22, SE La even managed 10. But keep pretending it's unreasonable to call out that offensive performance.
If your team would have just scored more of played a bit better on defense it would have been a different story
Again you prove your complete inability to actually discuss Auburn and instead resort to thinly veiled shots at OSU. This is a discussion board, not a smack board.

There's a reason we appreciate Ubet quite a bit, and you're well on your way to reaffirming that.

Wasn't Tubby talking some shit about OSU this off season? This is a guy who's made a living off of having a single good season (against a schedule, fortunately for him, lined with has-been and never-was teams that were charmin soft). Has he ever actually put together a compelling season with that team? Sure, they upset somebody now and then, but so does Michigan State - and nobody is ranking them in the top ten. I pray to God that we get Auburn in a bowl game, just for the hilarity of it.
