Why is Life so Unfair to the SEC

Aw...c'mon. What Is the likelihood that the subject of the discussion with the Big-10 fan involves the relative strength of the conferences? I mean, it seems to be a rule that you have to slam the SEC every other post when the discussion of the BCS or bowl season comes up. When that inevitable topic is breached, the easy answer for an SEC fan to take is the last meeting between the two conferences. It is a crutch for those not analytically inclined. That was a beat down that will last as long as we had to listen to the Nebraska folks - which is to say a few years. It is just a "Yeah - but...." reflex for the one sentence repartees that make up most message board exchanges. At least that is my guess. That, and jealousy that you all are back in the hunt and no SEC teams is.

I guess I should have explained the background to my question. When I've gone to foxsports to read about a game, there is inevitably some sort of commentary that will eventually turn into a Big Ten bashing or something about the Buckeyes. All this happens even when the topic of the article or teams in the game have nothing to do with either.

In all seriousness, it seems like there are a ton of SEC fans who just have a hard-on for the Big Ten and the Buckeyes, because they can't NOT talk about them regardless of the topic at hand.

Dunno man, but if the topic involves strength of schedule, or BCS rankings, that leads to the inevitable discussion of whose conference is better, which leads some to January's game. Just a guess. I read the same kind of boards and I see SEC Bashing, so - you know - eye of the beholder. LOL

But Jax informs me that all SEC fans are dicks, so that could be an answer.

On a completely serious note, Lou Holtzsh just said on Gameday Final that LSU was the best team and voters should forget about their two (2) losses and vote them number 1. He then went on an incoherent rant that ended with there needs to be a playoff so LSU can prove its dominance.
Lou Holtz may be the most articulate man ever to speak on live television. In case Lou comes by to read my post let me put it in his language:
Bghou Howish mablemos arshlit man elvwspogh on laoge tubblemishon.

LSU is an overrated shit machine. I would love to see tOSU play WVU in the title game simply to hear the SEC homers whine like little girls.

I wouldn't. You guys would fucking shit kick those one dimensional couch burning bitches so badly it would make Texas/Colorado 05 look tame.... I really hate WVU and all the attention they get. Slaton and White tear their cooters every time their team is in danger of losing and they get all this love for being a bully in a Division 10 conference. "Oh White and Slaton are so fast ZOMGZ OPTION" Well whoop dee fucking do and la dee fucking da, they suck. I hope they don't play you in the NC (I tend not to like it when our rivals win NCs, dunno bout you guys), but I hope whoever they play fucking blasts them.

In all seriousness, I sort of feel sorry for the kids at LSU. Most came in at the end of the Saban era and the beginning of the Miles era (when good development and good coaching was expected) I think that after this year it is obvious that Miles is lacking in at least one of these, if not both.

I think we can all agree that LSU is a very talented team that was at least as talented as their opponents in every game. Yet through LLLes's ineptitude they managed to lose two games and shoulda coulda lost two or three more. It harkens me back to the Cooper years, and those aren't good places to dwell.

All that said, I think LLLes would be a perfect fit for scUM

Quite frankly, had those two absolutely bone-headed last play stunts that Miles pulled failed, LSU would be (should be) a four loss team.

Oh well, no matter what happens in the bowls, SEC fan will still consider the SEC champion to be the real national champion--don't be surprised if some SEC school is not claiming a 2007 NC thirty years from now based on a vote of the Gulf Coast Used Car Salesman's Association. You can't reason with them or ever hope to change their mind, so it's best to just tune them out.

That's the thing. I don't know if Les won the games he did because of Saban's recruits or if he actually has some ability. I'm hoping GeauxTigers can shed some light on that subject.

I was thinking.....and i dont do it very often.....that WHY the sec is always ranked? maybe it started when LSU won the NC a couple years ago, then obviously returning many players they were ranked highly the next year. So during conference play, they lose, then that team gets ranked. The nxt year theyre both ranked, then they both lose to conference foes, then all 4 teams get ranked. And now we have the start of sec "dominance". Now if that was the big 10, it would be the same. every conference beats up on each other, and conference games are always the toughest. so personally, i dont think they have that much shit to talk, cuz it can work that way with all conferences. it just so happens its the sec these years, kinda how the big 12 used to be with texas, texas tech, colorado, nebraska, a&m...

I disagree.....

........unless you are talking about Bama fans, in which case - yeah.

Might want to throw LSU fan in there too. They still think they deserve a shot. How many times can they control their own destiny in a season and blow it? You typically get one shot at it and LSU was lucky and got two. They blew both. Their fans should accept they are not the best team in the nation by this time.
