Gatorubet;1007672; said:Aw...c'mon. What Is the likelihood that the subject of the discussion with the Big-10 fan involves the relative strength of the conferences? I mean, it seems to be a rule that you have to slam the SEC every other post when the discussion of the BCS or bowl season comes up. When that inevitable topic is breached, the easy answer for an SEC fan to take is the last meeting between the two conferences. It is a crutch for those not analytically inclined. That was a beat down that will last as long as we had to listen to the Nebraska folks - which is to say a few years. It is just a "Yeah - but...." reflex for the one sentence repartees that make up most message board exchanges. At least that is my guess. That, and jealousy that you all are back in the hunt and no SEC teams is.
I guess I should have explained the background to my question. When I've gone to foxsports to read about a game, there is inevitably some sort of commentary that will eventually turn into a Big Ten bashing or something about the Buckeyes. All this happens even when the topic of the article or teams in the game have nothing to do with either.
In all seriousness, it seems like there are a ton of SEC fans who just have a hard-on for the Big Ten and the Buckeyes, because they can't NOT talk about them regardless of the topic at hand.
