Why do we have such a bad reputation?

The only thing I can add is that we have an extremely regional fanbase. When people surrounded by people that all think the same, they tend to succumb to groupthink. Perhaps that causes our fans to not blend in as well in other parts of the country because of this?

Ohio St. has a great national fanbase too. I'm reppin' for them in the Pacific Northwest and Arizona seems to have quite a few Buckeyes, probably more than Arizona St. and Arizona combined. :tongue2:

Not that it matters, but most boards are not that polite to members who follow anyone but their team. I will say that ND fans are feeling good right now and while they should talk some trash, they may need a dose of reality, which they will get in a few days. :wink2:

With great respect to Jaxbuck, I think it does matter what others think. For one, it creates a groundswell of disdain for our program, which I think has happened. If you look nationally, I think many more people like UM than OSU. Undeserved, of course, but the perception is that UM is a more desirable team to root for, in large part due to the perception that OSU fans are assholes. Again, I think it's only a few bad apples, but I really do think it hurts us.

I made this point in another thread...I don't care what "fans" think of us, and I certainly don't give much of a crap about a bunch of moron announcers, but I do care about the reputation of the University I love and left a lot of blood, sweat, and tears at, and like it or not, players, teams, and fans have a much greater impact on the reputation of a school in general than they should, but the teams and the fans are visible to everyone...the average graduate from the Engineering Department is not. Therefore, the academic reputation of the school, in general, is affected by what the perception of the AD and the fans (seen as alumni) is....so I absolutely care in that regard.

How? I'm tired of the rational that we, as knowledgable Buckeyes must "prove our worth" to Mr. Random Fan.

To quote Bernie Mac (uncle vester) in House Party 3...

"If people don't like you for who you are...$#@! 'EM!"

I'm tired of my team being judged by the few a-holes that happen to wear scarlet and grey. Like if those people rooted for a different team they would become courteous and respectfull.

An a-hole is an a-hole is an a-hole. Period, end of discussion.
