If anyone noticed Bama got a double dose of karma when the mens Bball team went down to some no name team yesterday in a regular season game(NOT an exhibition).

But their men's basketball team is mediocre at best and doesn't have that feeling of arrogance like a Duke or North Carolina.

Except for a fluke run to the Elite 8 in 2004, what have the Tide EVER done as a basketball school?

It was freakin Belmont. I'm sorry but if your in a major conference, losing to Belmont is an embarrassment.

The overall point being the delicious irony of a very haughty Alabama program losing to La Monroe and Belmont in the same week.

But their basketball program has never been good enough to be haughty.

Everybody has Bama finishing at the bottom of the SEC in basketball, IIRC.

I think it's time for a new conference. It would consist of has-been programs:

Alabama
Nebraska
Florida St.
Southern Methodist
Notre Dame
Miami (Fla.)
Michigan

ND is above any conference. They would have to be the independent has-been.
