Hmmm, no, I wouldn't. Okay, I'll crap in my brother's pants if 2 Big 10 teams get #1 seeds.

Actually, I probably wouldn't do that either. Let's just say that I'd be shocked if a conference as weak as the Big 10 gets half the #1 seeds.

Why not? They have been ranked top 4-5 all season, shown that they are good teams, and other teams seem to be playing their way out of the top spots...

My natural reaction was like Yertle, no way a weak conference gets 2 #1 seeds. The way UNC and others are struggeling down the stretch its becoming a plausible scenario at the very least. Still a long way to go.

Exactally at this point there is no reason to write any team off, and to mark any team in for sure, besides Florida, unless they lose about 3 straight games which ain't happenin'...

First of all, they will most likely play eachother 2 more times. If one of the teams goes 0-2, they lose the #1 seed.

Second, if they DON'T play 2 more times, then one of the teams lost early in the Big 10 tournament. No #1 seed there either. Bottom line, very little chance they both end up #2 and #3 in the polls after the Big 10 tournament.

Third, right or wrong, the Big 10 is not getting much love this year for conference strength. I think that will play into this.

Fourth, although some of the big teams are struggling, the Bucks and Badgers are not playing DY-NO-MITE either. Both teams are finding ways to win or letting their opponent find ways to lose. Basically, they aren't turning a lot of heads nationally.

Fifth, and this is only my opinion, I've always felt that they try to get a #1 seed from each region to help boost ratings. This year, there's UCLA from the west, Florida from the south, NC from the East, and OSU/Wisky from the Midwest. It's a good mix, and I think the committee will take advantage of that.

Sixth, it's a gut feeling I have.

Seventh, if you'd like to place a little vWager on this, I'd be happy to go all-in.

Lets say we beat them regular season and then we meet in B10 champ game. As someone pointed out earlier the outcome is meaningless because the brackets are made before the game is over.

This is the part I agree with the most and what makde me think they couldn't both get a #1. However, if the powers that be are banking on UNC for the east then they have to be sweating it a bit because UNC loses a couple more and you just can't give em a #1.

So if not UNC then who? This is what gets me back to the very real possibility of OSU and Wiksy both getting a #1.

Really? How do they pick brackets before the game is over? What if PSU was playing Ohio State in the Big 10 Champ game, and Penn State won? Shouldn't a loss to the worst Big 10 team come into play in the decision, and I'm sure PSU wasn't in a bracket before the game was played. I honestly don't know when these decisions are made, but I know it's not announced until all of the games are done.

UCLA, Wisconsin, Oregon, and Gonzaga

I hope this was meant as a joke b/c Oregon and Gonzaga don't have a prayer of making it to the Final Four. In fact, Gonzaga may not even make the tournament, and Oregon would be lucky to make the Sweet Sixteen. While we're on the subject, I seriously doubt Wisconsin will make the Final Four. They're too much of a one-man show, IMO, and I see them going no further than the Sweet Sixteen.

Gonzaga's in. They have some solid wins. I don't think Oregon will go to the Final 4 because they have no depth. They've lost 5 out of their last 6 after starting 19-2 which shows they're wearing down. But "lucky" to go to the sweet sixteen? Now you just sound ignorant.

I don't believe that Gonzaga's in, I think they need to win their tourney. The committee will look at their record before-and-after the suspensions, and that will hurt them. Some may see that as unfair, but it's relevant to their ability to be competitive in the NCAA.

Somebody on one of the ESPN channels last night said that Oregon has trouble guarding the perimeter, while they do a poor job of defending inside. It might have been Bilas, and the way he said it was funny, if you're not an Oregon fan.

Florida
UNC
Kansas
UCLA

Eh, nothing exciting or interesting (or intelligent) to back that up. Not like I'm going out on a limb for any of those, either.
