I didn't have to work today, but just saw a news report that a school district near Charlotte, NC had school today. I think that is appalling! Take another day such as a teacher workday, etc. instead a day meant to honor our veterans.

The newscast showed a neighborhood were the parents refused to send their kids to school today. I don't know the make-up of the neighborhood but one of the individuals interviewed was an Iraq veteran. He had very strong opinion regarding the school's decision.

That is complete bullshit. They give off for presidents day, or MLK day.......but refuse to honor those who made these day's all possible. Sickening.
